When I started renovating my house, the part I thought about the most was⊠the kitchen! From the beginning, I had imagined wanting a kitchen that was a bit separate from the main room, but not completely closed. Still connected, but with a limit. Finally, I used a sliding doorâsimple, doesnât take up space, and still looks cute.
Why separate it? Because⊠so that when Iâm sauteing chilies or when the kitchen is busy, the smell doesnât spread throughout the house đ
and if itâs messy, it canât be seen directly from the living room. Itâs safe~
For the lights, I chose warm white, so that the kitchen feels warm and homey. But⊠I actually installed two lights. The other one is really bright whiteâthatâs the one I use most often when cooking noodles in the middle of the night, so I donât take the wrong spices đ€Ł
For the kitchen set, I mixed two colors. The upper cabinets use HPL Taco Treco Wood 131 AA, the color is warm and natural. I customized the lower cabinets with âSaybrook Sageâ duco from Benjamin Mooreâitâs really soft, makes it cool to look at.
For the backsplash, table top, and floor, I chose ceramic. So it's durable, easy to clean, and really suitable for areas that are often wet and prone to dirt like the kitchen.
So the point is, I want to have a kitchen that is not only pleasing to the eye, but also comfortable to use every day. Aesthetic, but still functional. Because the kitchen is one of the important spots in the houseâa place to prepare food, but also a place to tell stories, chat, and have a relaxing coffee (so relaxed I slumped on the floor hahaha) đłââš
