Welcome to my happy place: a kitchen and dining room that finally became a reality! This project was born from my main skill: scrolling Pinterest tirelessly. Concepts, colors, small details — I stole them all from there consciously hehehe. When I found the color ‘Saybrook Sage’ from Benjamin Moore… boom! I knew right away: this is the one. A cool, classy, yet chill grayish green. Like a weekend vibe hehe. I tried mixing this sage-colored lower cabinet with the upper cabinet, kitchen table, and wood-patterned flooring. And oh my… it’s so aesthetic, it makes me want to cook every day but I’m bored hahaha (still lazy a lot hahaha). Because the kitchen is a battlefield (not a runway) haha I chose materials that are waterproof, scratch-resistant, oil-resistant, and fire-resistant. That’s why I chose a kitchen table and wood-patterned ceramic flooring. There is indeed a slight compromise regarding aesthetics, but hey, the important thing is that it’s durable and still beautiful, right? Wallet? Safe and sound. I also installed Alexindo aluminum sliding doors, so that I feel more comfortable in the kitchen and when there are family events, they can still chat excitedly, without the bonus of the aroma of sauteed onions with chilies. hahaha Previously, this dream was only in the Pinterest folder. Now, every time I enter the kitchen, it feels like recharging my mood: warm, homey, and full of gratitude. Because at the end of the day, the most beautiful house is a house that is alive, full of stories, and full of love. We've always wanted to have a house as big as a football field 😂 Because, we have a big family. So we need a big room hehe. I deliberately combined the family room and dining room, so that when there is a family event, the kids and husband/father can play PS/watch Netflix together and the mothers/daughters can snack while chatting beside the dining table (if you want to get food/snacks close by) 🤪 I separated the kitchen and dining room area with a sliding door, so that when I want to cook, the aroma doesn't enter the dining/family room, especially if I cook spicy food, it will definitely bother the kids (they often make them cough) hehehe.
