Last week, there was a change in the living room. I moved all the bookshelves in the children's room to the living room. I created an environment where the children can enjoy and read books comfortably.

#2025올해의집 💕 My ideal interior design is somewhere between modern French style and a New York apartment. This year, I've changed up some furniture and styling, and I think I've gotten closer to that aesthetic. 1. Living Room. The biggest change in the living room was the sofa. I boldly chose a brick color, injecting life into the otherwise monochromatic space. I also moved the sofa perpendicular to the wall, rather than the usual arrangement against it, making it feel more cozy. 2. Bedroom. The wooden bookshelf that was originally in the family room had nowhere to go, so I temporarily placed it in the bedroom. And guess what? It goes so well together!! The white bedding and wooden bookshelf, reminiscent of a European Airbnb I'd wanted to get rid of, complete the simple yet emotional atmosphere. 3. Family Room. This is where our family gathers. Because the bookshelf is filled with colorful books, the other furniture is primarily white with neutrals like gray and black, creating a calming, modern feel. Sometimes, when I binge-watch dramas or watch movies on the weekends, I turn the sofa into a large bed. That's the charm of modular sofas! The sofa in my house is large and made of soft duck down material, so it's so comfortable when it turns into a bed that I can even fall asleep if I cover myself with a blanket.

This is a story about a bedroom that only contains the bare necessities. This is a space where we sleep together because my young 6-year-old son has not yet achieved sleep independence. In the bedroom, I had to pay attention to the lighting because my son wakes up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, reads in bed, and falls asleep.

My house uses a modular sofa with a 4-seater + ottoman configuration. Among them, I made a new 1.5-seater sofa by adding cushions to the practical ottoman that can be used as a couch sofa or to expand the seating when many guests come. I think it makes for a very comfortable and practical space✨

And I recently saw the Define rug in the showroom and immediately ordered it because it seemed good value for money, both in quality and design. I'm using it well. The cloud shaker box I introduced before, I put a remote control in its small size and placed it under the table, making it look neater. The tall plant, Whicus humberta, which is making a comeback in photos, has shed all its leaves this year, and is sprouting new leaves. I replaced the side table in the bedroom. I had to take out my beloved vintage storage cabinet to put a children's bookshelf in it. I'm still a mom who has to put aside my motherly desires for a moment 🥺

It's already past the middle of January. My child has been sick with a fever for a while, so I haven't been able to relax, but today he finally started going to school. Only then can I see the sunlight and feel the sunset I like :)
