When I'm making the sofa space, I'm conscious of the feeling of being surrounded when I sit down. It's nice to have a feeling of openness all around, but I also value the comfort of leaning your body into a gap that feels a little cramped.

It doesn't seem too noisy when you look at the whole room.
I've recently started thinking that by increasing the difference in density between the white space and the rest of the room, it's possible to create a space that doesn't feel too noisy even when there's a lot of stuff in it.

A plain life with flowers.
I made a DIY partition shelf to separate the bed space from the living space.
The bed space is at the back right of the screen.
The shelf is used from the bed side, and the living space side shows a plain wall.
The craft counter on the left side of the screen is usually placed against the wall, but when friends come over, I use it flexibly by tilting it against the room.
The room is not very big at 9 tatami mats, so I don't put a TV there, but I project a projector hanging from the ceiling onto the wall above the counter. The room looked lonely with just the projector, so I filled the duct rail and the craft partition shelf with dried flowers.

Let's talk about the living room.
I went through a lot of trial and error to get to the current form, but the breakthrough came from two things: "eliminating the closet" and "the sofa doesn't have to be against a wall."
When working on interior design, it's easy to unconsciously get caught up in theories and stereotypes, which often leads to compromises. In those times, it might be a good idea to question and re-examine that way of thinking.
