As the kids grew, I added two desks and moved the bed against one wall. The space is more practical now, and thanks to a unified color palette, it doesn’t feel cluttered. The light-colored desks and dark navy chairs from IKEA come together beautifully for a calm and balanced look.

This kitchen is special to us because of its simple design with black and grey as the dominant color. We also love how all the details can be placed in their respective positions without being visible to the eye.

Next to the entryway, I spent the most time on this DIY arched open cabinet—but it was all done on a budget! Originally there was a bi-fold door that clashed with the entry door and made the layout awkward. I removed the door and turned it into open shelving, and it was a game changer! No more bumping doors or worrying about pinched fingers. Now keys, books, miscellaneous items, shoe baskets, and eco bags are neatly organized and easy to grab on the way out. Stylish and practical—one of my most satisfying recent DIY projects!

This is my first ever kids’ room makeover.
I tackled my very first DIY board and batten wall and carefully styled every piece, from furniture and lighting to small decor.
The bed frame was only sold in white here in the U.S. so I spray painted it black myself!
Most of the room is furnished with IKEA pieces which are both budget friendly and stylish. 🙂
Proof that you can transform an entire room on a small budget. It just takes time and effort!
