Journey to find a house 🏠
✨In choosing a house, we prioritize 4 initial considerations; Budget, space requirements, location & home environment, and developer credibility. For the city of Solo, this developer is one that already has a name. The environment is also relatively safe, lots of greenery with 1 gate system and 24-hour security. So that for households, we feel more at ease because our children can grow and play safely.

✨In terms of budget, we adjust to space and layout requirements. For a budget under 1 billion in 2022, at that time we decided to choose this type of house for the reasons; minimalist building concept, there are 2 floors with an open space layout, has 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom & 1 powder room, and most importantly we still get a back garden.

✨With a building area of 65 square meters, this house is ideal to meet our needs. Determining where the living room, dining room and kitchen are all sufficient on the 1st floor. I added interior design to the kitchen, sliding garden doors, bedroom interiors and interiors under the stairs for neat storage. The rest we decorate according to taste with selected furniture, and decorative items to create home character and comfort. Another plus is the presence of crossed ventilation from front to back.

then filled with cactus plants and rocks
the other side area is filled with squirrel tails and rocks too,
I really like the garden area like this (2nd slide) it looks fresher, but because of the stray cats that often play around here, the layout has finally been changed.
and it became a mini garden like now, using terrazzo ceramics and a live plant area only on one side near the roaster.
This open area is suitable for guests to relax.

This indoor garden is next to the dining room and what I like the most is because it has lots of light. Made with a void design and flat solar skylights so that sunlight enters the garden. To make the wall look more aesthetic, I made a water rope accent in the shape of a square measuring 60x60cm. Tips for making an indoor garden: you must use a transparent roof like this so that the plants can still photosynthesize well 🤍

Modern Minimalist Facade 🏡
One of the reasons for choosing this type of house is its minimalist facade. In terms of maintenance, it is easier but the looks are still modern. With dark wooden doors, white aluminum windows, wood motif accents on the PVC balcony ceiling on the 2nd floor and vertical lattices.

The changes we made were only to the garden which was partially trimmed for the path by making cement blocks. The rest we decorated the garden with Pine Trees, Calathea and white stones to make it look fresher with greenery. Then added lounge chairs from IKEA and outdoor iron chairs.

This small garden on the terrace of the house is the first spot that appears after entering our yard. This garden is equipped with an L-shaped bench made of cement that can be used to sit and relax in the morning/evening. In addition, this bench is also used to make it easier to put on/take off shoes when going out of the house or after exercising.
This small garden is also one of the views that can be seen through the window from inside our house.
Our small garden has a dry garden concept, so we deliberately chose plants that are resistant to hot weather and minimal maintenance such as cacti, white ghosts, aloe plants, agave cyclok.
To beautify the floor, we installed Japanese grass decorated with coral stones

I Really Wanted to Have a Sliding Skylight, But... Budget! 😅
When I first renovated my house, I really dreamed of having an open area for good air circulation, and then using a sliding skylight on the top so that sunlight could come in beautifully~ 🌤️ But it's a renovation, the budget was tight. So that dream had to go into the "save first, be patient!" list first! 😆
Finally, I looked for an economical solution. I used a light steel frame for the canopy. Why? Because it's cheaper than hollow, both in terms of materials and workmanship costs. I chose double light steel, so the appearance remains neat and doesn't look "cheap". Economical but still beautiful! ✨
After waiting for some time (and saving every time I could), finally... yeay! the budget to make a sliding skylight was collected! 🎉 But I didn't dismantle everything right away. The old light steel frame was still really good, it would be a shame to throw it away.
So I only made the sliding part, using a solartuff roof. Well, I still use the old frame part, the roof is still polycarbonate. This way, it functions: light comes in, cool air, and your wallet is still safe. 😍
And what I like the most about this process is…
Not everything has to be new!
As long as the old one can still be used and looks okay, just give it a makeover. Economical, still functional, and of course very satisfying because the results are as expected ❤️

Hi O!House neighbors, I hope you're not bored of seeing this tiny developer's house pop up again in #S11 😅
This tiny 44m2 house still maintains its bold theme, which 9 years ago was the developer's original cream and orange color.
We only changed the appearance a little with DIY, we haven't renovated it in a big way. Hopefully later there will be fortune to change the shape of the facade and add a 2nd floor.

A place where when gathering with friends is definitely here,
there is a small garden spot here to pamper the eyes while chatting, our garden area here is not that big but it is enough to fit up to 5 people.
near the wall area we also installed teak wood seats, we added beanbags to relax and chairs and small tables to put snacks.
for the floor we installed terrazzo to make it look colorful, hopefully it inspires ya🤎

This is a green children's room in the front terrace area of the house. This green children's area is semi-outdoor.
Because I both like plants, I used about 2x2m of land to display my plant collection.
For the floor, a teak wood deck is used. Usually twice a week I water this plant using a drip system, namely watering the plant in the medium until the water comes out from the bottom of the pot.
I also use this area as a place to exercise, such as yoga / simple workouts.

🍂This Dry Garden Requires Minimal Maintenance! 🍃
This dry garden by combining several different elements functions as a green corner and aesthetic exterior of the house.
🌵The natural stone decking path is an absorption area so that water can flow to the ground below, because it is only covered with paranet, not covered with cement. The edges are given white stones to make it more aesthetic. The function of this deck path is to put bicycles.
🌵The dark gray deck is made for a relaxing seating area. Rattan chairs add a warm and natural impression amidst the fresh green plant pots.
🌵The arch-shaped broom storage cabinet made of grc material makes the garden tidier.
🌵Hanging plant shelves beautify the corner of the terrace.
🌵Along the floor of the white wall is filled with split stones with pots of ornamental plants on top.

This is a semi-indoor garden area located in the terrace area of Kimkim's house (behind the roster facade). Why is it called semi-indoor, because there is still an open roof, so that sunlight & rainwater can enter this garden area.
Usually this is where my furry child and I play. The furry child also likes to lie down and even sleep under the plants, because it makes it really cool.
