One of the wishes on the wish list when building a house is to provide a little land for a garden area. Gardens and plants are an inseparable unity. Plants are one component that I think is a 'must have' in a garden. Plants are useful for filtering the air to make it fresher, and can also relax the owner. We chose plants that are low maintenance, such as calathea lutea, peace lily, and ketapang ketapang, many of which were inspired by other home decor accounts that were much earlier in managing gardens. Apart from that, there are several tips that can be taken. For example, using paranet as a garden base before installing split stones to inhibit the growth of wild plants. It turns out that this tip really works after seeing that there is no growth of wild plants after 8 months of installation. Apart from that, many coffee shop-inspired garden benches are made at home so that it still feels healing even at home.

About the Park.
The garden area of our house is one of the favorite areas in our house. The two of us often spend time in the afternoon just enjoying the fresh air after a day of activities. In this park area there is one tree which is the focal point of this area, namely Ketapang Kencana Variegata.

➖ Mini Garden Makeover
We use the mini garden area in front of the house, which is only 3x0.8 meters wide, for a dry garden so that it remains beautiful and has green plants that are easy to care for.
We lightly makeover the #IKEA decking that has started to look dull due to 5 years of use, with real teak decking that has been finished, so that it matches the theme of our house better.

Actually, there was no plan for this park...initially I wanted it to be a full garage, but because the concept was to have an outside living room for my husband's friends and call it a smoking area, this park became a place to make swings for children at the same time. you can play here too.

Small garden behind the house.
Since the back area of the house has been eaten up by buildings, I still insist on having a green area so that it looks fresh every morning when I open the door. It turns out that even a super narrow area can be worked around.

This indoor garden is next to the dining room and what I like the most is because it has lots of light. Made with a void design and flat solar skylights so that sunlight enters the garden. To make the wall look more aesthetic, I made a water rope accent in the shape of a square measuring 60x60cm. Tips for making an indoor garden: you must use a transparent roof like this so that the plants can still photosynthesize well 🤍

This is our back garden area which uses synthetic grass. The use of synthetic grass here ensures minimal maintenance. This area can be directly seen from our kitchen and also the main bedroom area on the 2nd floor. Of course, when it rains, this area is safe from getting wet because we use solar taff which connects from the laundry room on the 2nd floor. This is also the location of our cat's litter box. . The most comfortable place to relax for our family at Casa de Likan is the back garden, in the back garden we created a beautiful corner to relax, work, joke with family or even just daydream and sip a cup of coffee or tea.
Our back garden was inspired by the garden in Jardin Majorelle, Morocco where contrasting colors blend with ornamental plants (dominated by cowboy cacti) and produce a beautiful and unique garden, not to forget the fountain is made as similar as possible to the original in Morocco.
Back to the comfortable corner in the back garden, the chairs we use we bought in Jepara then we asked to be painted with orange duco to contrast with the blue and white colors around it, it turned out that this chair actually became very eye-catching, but still very comfortable to look at 💙
