Letter L kitchen interior inspiration
We recently requested this room from the developer to be prepared as a kitchen. With limited space, we decided to ask for help from an interior service to design a kitchen set in our kitchen. Again, the main reason is to maximize the existing space so that it can function optimally too.
We actually asked an interior service to design our kitchen with full cabinets up to the ceiling so that there was lots of storage and minimized the work of cleaning up dust on the top of the cabinets. This is one of the tips for you too if you want to minimize wiping dust 😂 besides that, it also gives the impression of a cleaner and more minimalist look.

From Bat Nest to Room "with a view"
The balcony area in this room used to be just a "toilet" for bats. Because the house is located near the road, the balcony area of this room gets dusty easily so it ends up being neglected.
Seeing the beautiful view of the garden in front of the house where the trees are getting bigger, I feel it would be a shame if it wasn't used. Finally I decided to renovate this empty room with a balcony. With the help of my sister, who is an interior designer, Aisyah Hanani, I want to expand the room area by just dismantling this balcony area.
The room which was initially dark, finally had 2 new openings made with large windows. One window maximizes the view of the front of the house, while the window on the side is for the AC service area. The position of the windows and layout of my room was helped by my sister who is an interior designer.
However, unfortunately during the work there was a difference in wall thickness between the old room and the balcony. It can be seen from the line accents where the bedroom wall meets the balcony and on the top wall. Because smoothing the walls can take a lot of time, we ended up leaving the imperfections alone.

I want to tell you a little about the process of building my photo studio, namely 105 STATION, located in Bandung. When we were starting construction, my partner and I decided not to use interior services for our studio. Apart from saving budget, it feels a bit difficult to transfer our tastes which are quite unique to this studio.
We decided to divide different themes for each floor. During the implementation process, we felt that the stair railing area was quite disturbing for the studio's aesthetics. Apart from that, we feel there is a need for privacy on each floor in the studio for the comfort of the clients who use our studio. Finally, we decided to use the services of a contractor to make partitions for the railing area using gypsum material. The new kitchen room was recently renovated with the help of an architect and interior designer. Assisted by the KNS Archipelago architect team who were very helpful in making the kitchen more ideal according to your needs. I feel that I save time and money because with the help of professional services, they can create designs according to my wishes and are functional.
The room area is now 4.35 m x 4.3 m, previously only around 2.5 m. The line on this floor was previously a warehouse room which was finally broken into to make an island table, and the house feels more spacious, because the open space blends with the other rooms. This kitchen was customized with up-to-ceiling to store items that were previously stored in the warehouse, and a special place for kitchen utensils was made for the fridge, microwave and shelves so that the kitchen looks more aesthetic. 🤎✨

Initially the size of this kitchen was only half the size it is now, because there was still empty land behind, we decided to enlarge the kitchen area. Who doesn't love having a skylight at home???
This is the Skylight in de Mahendra's house
Our house was renovated, built from scratch using the services of an architect.
We chose to use the services of an architect because we wanted all our space needs to be maximized even though our house had limited land. One of them is that we want the house to have a skylight so that sunlight can enter the house, so that the lighting in the house is good and looks aesthetic.
Skylights in the house are installed above the stairs so that there is no need to turn on the lights during the day, and they do not interfere with activities in the house.
The architect who helped me in the process of designing the house and supervising the renovation work used the services of Agung Nugroho Architect.
When choosing an architect I consider the price according to my capabilities, then references from friends and direct surveys of houses that have been built.

This living room is a new room built during yesterday's renovation. Initially, the existing house building only reached the arch window wall. And initially this living room area was a garden next to the house, coincidentally our house is located on the hook so the area of the side garden is still quite large. We use design and build services, but will not share details of the company name, because it is very untrustworthy and detrimental to us as owners. Just let the victims reach us, 😅😅
At that time we decided to use design and build services because at that time our domicile was still in Papua, and the renovation project was underway while we were still in Papua. The aim of the renovation was to take place before our move to Jakarta so as not to rent the apartment for too long as a temporary home while the project was running. But it turns out that with all the renovation drama, the contract should have only been 3 months but turned out to be 6 months. 🤪
My advice is that if you want to renovate, either with or without the services of a contractor, we as owners must be diligent in going directly into the field so that if there are slight errors we can immediately CUT them, so that losses in time, material and energy can be minimized.
And if you decide to use the services of a design and build company, if you have more funds, it's better if your credibility is truly guaranteed. There are indeed prices. In the end, we had to spend much more money to fix the mess of the first contractor. In fact, if you had directly used the services of a second contractor, it might have been completed more quickly, the price would have been higher than the first contractor, but the time lost would not have been as much as yesterday and there would have been no need for improvements here and there which resulted in the totals becoming really swollen, it would be cheaper to use a second contractor. since the beginning. For the second contractor, we used the services of interlook.co.id and its subsidiary worksoul for interior improvements.
Meanwhile, for the interior design at home, I do everything myself, in order to save budget, and it's easier to follow our tastes too.
