The focal point of omah.piye is the "homey and cozy impression" by combining Ethnic (Javanese) elements with harmonious modern.
The color of wood brown, dark ebony, and mahogany dominates every room.
To match, we chose sage green and dark patterned floors as a contrast for our natural colors.
We also added wood print stickers to the doors and walls.
As an interior sweetener, decorative items have soft colors but remain an interesting point. The point is how we like each room and it's very exciting to think about the combination of color palettes in decorating the house ❤️

🔆 Low Budget White Facade 🔆
I used to really want to have a house with a gable roof facade, but after considering it seemed heavy on the construction and maintenance budget, I finally got a house with this very minimalist facade.
The facade is just a box and a sloping model on the roof so that there is no need for gutters on the right and left sides, so rainwater just falls to the front of the house. This model also requires minimal maintenance, because there is no problem with clogged and overflowing gutters and can affect seepage into the walls or leaks.
The facade that still uses corrugated asbestos as its roof, was chosen because it is cheap compared to tiles, but the downside is that the house feels a bit hotter than using tiles.
In the past, this facade and terrace area were first painted sky blue and white, then changed to soft gray and white, but in the end I decided to paint all the walls and fences white so that they are cleaner and fresher.
The entrance to this house has 2 openings in the fence, the side is only big enough for people to enter and exit, and the front is for vehicles to enter and exit.
The front uses a folding fence because there is no access to the right and left walls, all fences.
This house is located in a densely populated area in an alley, so it took quite an effort to photograph the front of this facade because the size of the front road only fits one car. But it seems not bad for the size of a house in an alley, ehehehe 🤭

Our semi-outdoor kitchen is different from the others🍏🍆⭐️
Without a kitchen set on the top and the cooking position faces the living room to be able to still interact with family members.
The selection of ceramics with wood and brick motifs makes the kitchen decoration in harmony with the garden. Don't forget the addition of living plants for a fresh and natural impression.
Rooster wall with a sage green painted wall frame is the focal point of our kitchen background.
Wooden hood pendant lights are installed on the gypsum drop ceiling as a modern element in a natural tropical style kitchen.

✨ Laundry Room ✨
The workspace for mothers besides the kitchen 😂
It is located right across from the bedroom, so it is part of the backyard. So if you open the big door in the room, you can laze around looking at the garden while looking at the clothesline 🤣
The size is only about 160x160 cm, not too wide, but it is enough to accommodate the washing machine and the drying area.
Still with a neutral white-gray-black-wood color theme and embellished with living plants, so that it looks integrated with the backyard, it's just a shame that this washing machine has blue in it 🤣
I covered the body of the washing machine with gray wood motif wallpaper to match, because the original white color has turned yellow because it's been more than 9 years.
Here, I also use shelves to put soap bottles and storage, because there used to be a standing shelf but it became narrow, finally we used the wall for shelves only.
To match, the bottles and storage on the shelves are also white, but still low budget because the storage uses an ex ice cream box, ehehehe aesthetics doesn't have to be expensive, right? 😌

🔆 Simple Entry Way 🔆
The entry way or terrace area should not have too many items or decorations because there must be an area for cars to enter and exit the carport.
Because my house is in an alley, so I have to be smart in making a terrace and carport that are functional, spacious, with minimal items, but still beautiful.
To liven up this area, I planted living trees such as palms and sansivera or mother-in-law's tongue; which can also function as air filters.
The walls, ceiling, and fence areas are deliberately painted white to give a spacious and clean impression, but there is still a touch of black on the door handle and hook so that it is not monotonous.

Before getting married in 2021 during the Covid19 pandemic, we had been looking for a place to live. With a young couple's budget (whatever it is) we looked for a cluster house in a large complex with complete public facilities (parks, modern markets, schools).
We chose this tiny house considering that it faces the Qibla (west), is in a high position, and has good and fresh air circulation.
Gradually, for 3 years we made over all the rooms into the concept we dreamed of.
Semi-open space concept, midcentury modern mix with harmonious Javanese ethnic.
omah.piye's journey is still long and of course full of shortcomings. Just enjoy the process 🙏
