To maintain air circulation, I finally added ventilation in certain areas, namely under the sink and in the cabinet under the stove where the gas is stored. This helps reduce humidity under the sink and ensures better air flow in the gas storage area, making it safer and more functional. ✨ Add Carpets and Runner Rugs The carpet under the dining table and the runner rugs along the kitchen set also make a big change. In addition to adding aesthetics, the carpet in the dining area makes the atmosphere warmer and more comfortable. Previously in 2016 (slide 4), when we first moved into the house, the developer's built-in alley kitchen still used shelves that were again made by ourselves, aka DIY. The kitchen items and furnishings were still simple and many were brought from our parents' house. We did change the backsplash and granite to black, previously the developer's built-in orange color. After almost 5 years of living in the house, we added a kitchen set to make it tidier and have lots of storage. We chose black because our previous house style was monochrome. Although the concept of our house is open space, we separate the family room area from the kitchen area using a sliding door. The reason is simple, to emphasize the room and also when cooking activities the smell of cooking does not spread too much to all parts of the house.
