Minimalist Facade Built by Developer
This is the appearance of the facade built by the developer in our housing cluster for a 5x12 m house. Of course, it is not allowed to change the exterior material. There is a carport that is enough for 1 car and a canopy that we have not changed due to budget constraints, while we want to use a PVC canopy that is currently trending.
The only thing that has been changed is the garden area. Initially, the width was parallel to the terrace, but we cut it to be used as an entry way by making cement blocks. In addition to being a walking access to the terrace, we often use this area to park motorbikes at night. Because during the day, motorbikes can be parked in the public parking lot right in front of the house.
To make the terrace area more cozy, I added lounge chairs that I got from the marketplace & IKEA. Usually sitting here enjoying the afternoon with Popo & Lulu 🐈⬛🐈 so that they are happy enjoying the outdoors.

Tropical Facade Garden Renovation

Starting from a green grassy garden and tall Calathea plants, it finally switched to a tropical dry garden. The reason is because the growth of Calathea is too fast, new trees grow and are very dense. So extra care is needed, not to mention the horsetail plants that originally had hairy flowers have not grown again for a long time, only leaving tall grass making the garden look less neat.

One day we went to one of the Slow bar coffees in Jogja to find the garden inspiration that we like, namely a tropical dry garden with red coral rocks, there are Pandan Bali trees, Dracaena, Bromelia and large river stone decorations & fossil stones. It looks very beautiful, simpler and has character. Moreover, our garden is not too big, the selection of Pandan Bali trees & Dracaena is considered the most appropriate in terms of maintenance, only cutting the stems that are already tall so that new branches appear.

Small space transformation, minimal budget, but still maximizing aesthetics!
namely using kalsiboard or GRC on the bathroom door that directly faces the dining room. Because the initial look of the PVC bathroom door was dull and we didn't want to buy a new one, so we changed the look with kalsiboard and ice blue paint. In addition, we also made a multifunctional partition between the foyer and the room which also functions as a hidden warehouse with kalsiboard. We did it all ourselves, aka DIY. In addition to being more economical, kalsiboard is lightweight, moisture-resistant, and easy to paint to match the nuances of the house.
Dining table? Originally from an old boarding table that wasn't even a dining table. But with a little touch of creativity—a beautiful tablecloth and the right decoration and position—the table was upgraded to become the center of family dining.
The study table is the same. Recycling an old table, we repainted it to make it look like new. Economical, functional, and certainly has sentimental value.
Tips:
Reuse old furniture—more environmentally friendly and can be more unique!
Use kalsiboard for a quick, aesthetic, and durable partition solution. or as a camouflage door decoration
DIY = economical + personal satisfaction!

Affordable spill material during backyard renovation 🌿🌿
During the second renovation project of Ryuto House last year, we really wanted a backyard area for children's play area, family gathering and relaxing spot, but with limited funds, we thought about the right design and of course with pocket-friendly materials and decorations to make it happen.
With plain walls with white exterior paint, it is enough to make this area look clean and okay to be combined with any decoration. The backyard floor, seating and planter box are made of cement plaster which is quite budget-friendly but still makes this area look quite okay. The roof is made of dowel wood which is quite cheap to add to the impression of a villa in Bali complete with a transparent roof. Some decorations that are quite cheap to make your pocket safe such as placemates, teak stairs, vases with unused wood twigs, hanging lampshades, straw hats and wooden benches that look natural. In our planter box we plant calathea which is easy to get and the price per stem is very cheap. Initially this area was not a kitchen. but in the last year we made over into a clean kitchen. starting from buying kitchen cabinets one by one. finally it looks like this now. Kitchen and workplace. The area that is most often used to take video content because the sunlight is good here with a skylight roof.
although it is not exactly like our dream kitchen, but we are grateful to be able to make it like this now.
2. Slide 2- Corner that makes you feel at home
a corner that is specifically for the green children's area, a comfortable place to spend time taking care of plants if you are tired of your daily routine.

the change that is so different is when the terrace is made over. Initially it was still land left over from the developer for a garden. finally we make over into a multifunctional space while still leaving a little land for a dry garden with low maintenance plants.
the corner that used to be a favorite corner is the kitchen area. Just by adding 2 kitchen cabinets and shelves, it can change the atmosphere much tidier and more aesthetic. why not function as a kitchen from the start? Because above this cabinet is a gutter, it used to leak often in this area before finally being repaired several times. Until finally we were able to place the kitchen cabinet in this area. 🏡
