From the beginning using abstract ceramics, although there were no problems from yesterday, it turns out that replacing ceramics with vinyl spc is the right choice.
In addition to looking more aesthetic, vinyl spc makes it easier for us to clean, just sweep or vacuum, it removes all dust and dirt.
Also, the room looks brighter because the floor tends to be darker than the floor.

Hi Ohouse neighbors! This is what my room looks like now after the renovation, still with a simple and minimalist look with minimalistic arrangements that create a spacious impression in the room area 😍
This room is a former living room measuring 3x5 meters, I deliberately made the main room spacious so that it is easy to arrange the surrounding area, since the bed does not have a bed frame, I put storage and a large mirror next to it to make it look beautiful, don't forget the artificial flowers and rattan pots to make the appearance more aesthetic ✨
For the atmosphere, I chose to decorate this room with a combination of white, green, brown and black to make it look fresh, in my opinion, so that it is not monotonous, there must be additional striking colors so that the atmosphere is much more lively 😍

Affordable materials in #rumahmaknaa
One of the most expensive costs when building a house is finishing. From the start, we wanted a house with wooden elements to give a warm impression. Honestly, we wanted to use teak wood which is known to be strong and durable but it's expensive 😫.
Due to the limited budget, we finally adjusted some things, for example:
1. Choosing to use Dutch teak wood instead of teak wood as stair treads. The price is much cheaper than teak wood and thank God it's still good after 3 years.
2. Choosing to use vinyl instead of parquet flooring. In addition to being cheaper, vinyl flooring is also claimed to be durable.
In addition, another room that we adjusted the budget for was the bathroom. We used subway tile wall tiles which are affordable.
Currently, there are more affordable materials that are functional and aesthetic. The key is to find out a lot. Hopefully the information is useful🤍.

In my previous bedroom, I did many things, from working, exercising, watching Netflix, to doing hobbies like reading books, drawing, and even making coffee😅 The boundary between rest time and productive time became ‘blurred’. So, when I moved to this house, I had a new intention: I wanted my bedroom to feel like a bedroom. A place to really rest😴
My current bedroom is not too big, but it feels spacious because there aren’t many things. There is a bathroom and a kind of walk-in closet area separated by a few walls, enough to hide the clutter👌🏽
One thing I like is that this room directly faces a small terrace without a roof. The morning light and breeze easily enter, and somehow the atmosphere reminds me of villas in Bali (minus the swimming pool🥲). Waking up in the morning here feels calmer.
In this room, I don’t do anything other than sleep, lie down, and read books. No work allowed. (Reading gets a pass because it’s part of my wind-down routine)
The layout, choice of furniture, and decorations are also kept simple and comfortable. I use a firm mattress with a custom bed frame, a bedcover set made of 100% cotton that is cool and soft, a comfortable reading chair, a small table, and a lamp with warm light🌙
From all of these things, I learned that the comfort of resting can be achieved not only from the softness of the pillows or the aesthetics of the room. But also about setting boundaries and giving space for myself to really ‘rest’. That little boundary has made all the difference💚

Minimalist concept
Because I want a simple and minimalist but cozy house, I chose white paint for the entire room, so that the room looks spacious and minimalist.
For the floor, I use 2 different granites. For the bedroom floor, I use vinyl granite, while for the kitchen and living room, I use marble motif granite.
For the use of minimalist furniture, only white is dominant so that the minimalist impression is not lost.

I rarely share my room, huh? Tadaaa, this is the main bedroom in #RumahSeupil 🫶🏻 located on the mezzanine floor with a minimalist concept—the less the better!
It looks empty, but practically it’s enough for me and my hubby. Everything is here! To avoid messy stuff outside, there are several cabinets and bedside tables to cover it all. Plus, the bed also has storage so it’s really space efficient.

A comfortable bedroom for rest.
For us, although this room is small, it is comfortable enough for us to rest, especially equipped with air conditioning that is only turned on during naps or night rest. Not much decoration, the important thing is that the colors remain harmonious and of course look neat and clean. The long journey to find a 'Home'
So my family (parents, older sister, brother, me, and younger sister) lived in a shophouse for 12 years. Because the shophouse only had 1 room, for comfort and security the shophouse was partitioned with plywood.
It was only in 2023 that we were given the fortune and convenience to build the second floor of the shophouse. It became what it is today.
Although it took a long time to build/find this 'House', we really considered it, designed it ourselves according to our wishes and needs. With a limited budget and now our dream 'House' has become. Although after a year has passed we are still paying off the interior due to these limitations. But, masyaAllah we are always grateful that we have been able to reach this stage.
