Here it is, the dining area in our house!
This dining area is integrated with the living room and kitchen, an open space that makes the atmosphere feel spacious. We chose an island table because we usually have breakfast together here before everyone does their activities.
The island table is made of teak wood with a granite marble table top, so it connects with the kitchen cabinet.
But, this area is still a work in progress! There are still things that need to be fixed, especially the empty wall near the refrigerator that is not yet optimal.

AFTERNOON ATMOSPHERE IN THE DINING ROOM - Ramadhan Day 1

Coincidentally, when I was preparing my sahur meal, before everyone got up for sahur, I snickered first 😀.
Creating a cafe-style atmosphere at home has been my dream for a long time, thank God it has been achieved according to the existing budget 😀. I love teak + rattan furniture, so to create an aesthetic and comfortable cafe-style dining room atmosphere in this old house, and also make you feel more at home hehehe, I chose a custom teak dining table from Jepara. Previously, this dining table was a set with teak armchairs, in my opinion the house was getting narrower, in the end I replaced the dining chairs with benches and stools also made from cutsom teak wood, so that this small room looked spacious. To complete the aesthetics of this dining room, I also added a 60cm round teak mirror, and an industrial trolley combined in this room, don't forget to add a touch of artificial plants + cafe-style retro lights..., I hope it inspires you 😍

Even though we have lived in it for quite some time, our house seems to have just found its identity during the pandemic. Of course, because we have to spend our days at home, we have become aware of making it a place to live that makes us feel at home. While there are demands to repair damaged parts (such as replacing floors and repainting), we also made the renovation moment to complete our family's needs (adding a sunroom and multi-storage furniture). In addition, choosing memorable decorations gives meaning and character to our home.

Because we live in a hot area, we finally decided to make a Dining room and Kitchen with a Semi Outdoor concept.
A semi-outdoor kitchen design can make cooking activities more comfortable.
That's because the kitchen feels more spacious because it is usually placed in the backyard.
The semi-outdoor kitchen model also makes the smoke created from the cooking process not collect in one area.
As a result, when cooking in the kitchen it won't feel stuffy.

The open space in the jahar house is indeed very open, starting from the living room, dining room, and cooking to washing dishes, all done in one room. Our kitchen area has a lot of storage space, because we like to cook and bake so there are a lot of tools that need storage space.
We made our kitchen island 80cm x 100cm in size, enough to prepare cooking ingredients or when making bread, the top table uses large slub granite tiles, we chose it because it is stain and scratch resistant. In the island area there are also many storage spaces that function to store cutlery.
The dining table is adjacent to the kitchen area without any partitions, so that we can interact with children or guests who visit while preparing dishes.

After-before after a light makeover of a clean kitchen
-The first time I bought this house, the kitchen looked like in slide 2, I made over it by replacing the backsplash with white to make it look cleaner, and the wall color with vanilla color from Jotun paint so that my kitchen space became more beautiful
-Next, the lights were replaced with decorative lights and additional buffets for the coffee corner and shelves above it and also a teak dining table which was done in stages to make it more complete and comfortable to be in the kitchen

How do I style my dream kitchen?
My home concept is open space so living, dining, kitchen become one area
For the size of the kitchen side, it is 3.5 m long and 4 m wide
I use a ready-made kitchen from IKEA's knoxhult with 2 cabinets consisting of 120 cm long and 80 cm long (with each width 60 cm, height 75 cm)
The kitchen styling follows the color of the kitchen cabinet, which is white and wood. I added a white upper cabinet and 2 shelves to be used as storage and decoration (enhancing the aesthetic impression in this kitchen)
Because this kitchen is minimalist in line, we made this kitchen a dry kitchen using an induction stove from 🥰🥰
We chose teak wood furniture from Jepara for the dining table along with its chairs 🤎🤍

I've always wanted to have a white kitchen like Shea McGee or Serena & Lily's works that are not only functional, but also feel warm and comfortable for family gatherings. That's why this open space kitchen concept is the best choice! This kitchen was only completed about 2 years after we moved into this house because we went back and forth for design consultations until we found the best interior design & build vendor.
In addition to making the room feel more spacious, the integrated kitchen and dining area also makes cooking and eating activities more exciting. Natural light coming in from the large windows adds to the airy impression, while wood and rattan elements keep the atmosphere homey.
Small details like woven chairs, rattan pendant lights, and a glass dining table with a wooden base really make a statement in this room. Well, this is our dining room. The location may not be ideal, but it can accommodate the needs of a small family. To be safe for all family members, we use a dining set made of teak which is durable and easy to maintain. In addition, removable chair cushions are the right solution for easy cleaning. We also arrange it using a neutral colored table runner and a simple centerpiece that is easy to swap to change the atmosphere.
Although located near the main door, the monochromatic short-haired carpet makes the dining table area feel warmer. There is no special lighting in this area, because the abundant natural light is enough to make our dining room more aesthetic.
