The facade of our house is very industrial and exposed cement. Although the shape of the house is only a cube, it is quite eye-catching in the environment because it is surrounded by housing with a type of house that is predominantly pure white.
According to our dreams, we do want a low-maintenance house facade. Because it is exposed to a lot of weather changes, the risk of becoming shabby is greater if the finishing is white (for example).
Leave it like this, sometimes it is clean gray during the dry season or dark gray with moss green accents during the rainy season.
To beautify the appearance of the front fence, attached bricks are installed so that a tropical impression is obtained. The brown color combines with the green color of the plants π #tropical
The fence is made simple using black iron with a transparent impression so that the house does not look stiff.
Our main concern is the strength of the facade material. Looking for durable materials such as Ulin wood, cement, iron plates as gate doors.

It seems that many are interested in our backyard hehe let's join the flashback before-after terrace & backyard from the beginning of occupancy until now! Lately we changed the mini elephant grass with coral stones because it turns out that it is not easy to care for grass, it ends up bald & dead. Then we added dowel wood panels on the canopy to make the atmosphere warmer. In addition, we also upgraded the furniture to be more proper. Everything is a process, thank you O! Our story of finding a house is quite long, we have done several surveys in several places but have not found a match until finally we found a housing complex that is not too far from the center of Depok, and a house with fairly close toll access.
Judging from the environment, this is very suitable for us, a millennial couple who just have one child, and the building area is not that big but enough for the three of us.

A little story, the combination of the green and cream facade colors was actually beyond prediction. For the green color, I bought it online and it turned out that the green in my mind was different from the green paint that arrived, but I just accepted it and tried to find out what color would be suitable for the combination from the existing paint colors at home. Initially mixed with gray but it turned out to be less of a match, the second mixed with white still didn't match haha. Finally decided to buy new paint which was also very random, choosing a derivative color from green but more neutral and found this color.
For friends who are currently painting the facade of their house, it's better to try using an application that can check the color by chat first before wasting money on a craftsman like me, hopefully it inspires you π₯°

π Pros and Cons of Dry Gardens π
Before you decide to make a dry garden, maybe you need to know first what are the pros and cons of this dry garden:
Pros:
π Low maintenance.
π Easier to clean.
π Not much trash.
π Neater.
π Minimal leaf-eating animals.
π Minimal splashes when it rains.
Cons:
π Bigger budget.
π Lots of ants under the synthetic grass.
π Less water absorption.
π Synthetic grass takes a long time to dry if it rains.
π Less oxygen is produced because there are fewer living plants.
Then, do I regret changing the wet garden to a dry garden? No, of course~
This is the best decision I have ever made. Because in the past my wet garden became more and more like a forest if it was not maintained often, splashes of soil when it rained also made the white aluminum door and walls dirty, not to mention various types of plant pests that made me ticklish.
The things I did to overcome the minus points of this dry garden include:
β¨ Reducing the budget on materials that could be reduced, for example: because synthetic grass is quite expensive, so I looked for cheaper white coral stones, and filled the space not too full, it was quite economical for several bags of stones.
β¨ Diligently cleaning synthetic grass with a vacuum cleaner and repelling ants with camphor.
β¨ Making water drainage holes under the synthetic grass, to increase the water flow area in addition to the infiltration under the garden chair.
β¨ Fanning synthetic grass with a fan from the room if you really need to dry the grass quickly π€£π€£π€£
β¨ Working around it with potted plants so that the dry garden remains clean but the number of plants is also sufficient to produce oxygen.
