Welcome back to first21.haus 🥳
This post is also an update of my living room from the previous one. Still with the Midcentury modern x Japandi style and a more colorful Bauhaus theme. I added a wooden handle to the stairs, replaced the carpet with a blue and white color with a unique wave pattern in my opinion with the hope of making the room vibes more cheerful and colorful. The addition of a leather bean stool in a color that almost matches the table lamp and sofa foam. So the room feels more cozy to relax.

The area under the stairs that was originally going to be used as a warehouse finally changed its function to become a multipurpose space,,
Sometimes it becomes a prayer room, sometimes a photo spot, sometimes a place to exercise depending on the needs,,

The main theme of this house style is mid-century Japan. We tried to adapt the mid-century theme which is generally dominated by solid wood characters, loose furniture, with deep color tones and a little pop out from various additional decorations. We also added the character of a 'Japanese home in Showa era' which is more 'clutter' compared to 'Japanese zen home' or 'Japanese minimalism'.
For now, only the 1st floor can we give a touch of mid-century Japan. Our next project also wants to decorate the 2nd floor with the same theme 🤗❤️

Often people box their home interior with 1 flow. However, for Buaran houses, we agree to mix elements from various different designs to create a diverse and unique look. Or what is often called eclectic interior design.
Many people think our house is industrial because the walls and some parts of the floor use exposed cement. But on the other hand, we use wood elements and quite diverse colors. But in our opinion, everything still fits our taste and needs for the house. Whatever design you choose for your home, make sure it fits and matches your character.

Initially our house was going to have a Japandi Minimalist theme. But as time went by, my husband changed his mind and had an interest in the Mid Century style. So slowly this living room will have a Mid Century concept, with a dominance of wood colors/elements plus pop color accents from furniture and other decorative items. Maybe it's not so obvious now. Hopefully soon this living room will be Mid Century.
