Living Room - 1st Floor I call it this because it is specifically for receiving guests where they can be served food and drinks here, because it is near the kitchen ☕️ 2. #RumahSeupil and its open space ☁️ Lesson learned from my parents' stuffy house with a short ceiling full of partitions, making a big house feel cramped. Even though it's more than 200m2... I'm fed up, I'm fed up! That's why, my house which is only "a pinch" wide (93m2) is made hollow without partitions, with a high ceiling, and painted all white. This is a "cheat code" so that a small house feels more spacious, decorating becomes freer and air circulation becomes better. Our main bathroom is so girling girlingg 💕 I use 3 different ceramic motifs here: 1) Metro Bevel (wall) 2) Black Hexa (wet floor) 3) Flower Hexa (dry floor) The reasons: to differentiate areas based on function and section. Moreover, it is also a way to save budget, because if it is full hexa ceramic, it is very expensive. Especially "the flower one," its price is calculated per sheet... awesome! So, I tricked it by mixing it like this. I'm on the custom furniture team ofc, because #RumahSeupil has almost 85% custom furniture, from kitchen sets, shoe racks, under-stairs cabinets, to walk-in closets. WHY? Because it helps me a lot in realizing #RumahCompact which is tiny but has lots of storage. Also, if I bought ready-made, I probably wouldn't be able to find furniture that fits the size, because my house has lots of impossible corners. Does my kitchen make you worry? Because it's predominantly white hahaha like cooking is dirty, then the kitchen set is white 🙂‍↔️ suicide huh~ BUT, IT'S OKAY! In fact, it's not that complicated. Because I’m called Upil (reason 1) and the house is small, only 93m2 of land area (reason 2), so it’s “Rumah Seupil” (the house of the booger who’s only a single nose) 🫵🏻😂 Anyway, my house is very minimalist. Even the facade is that plain: windows-doors haha the wall paint is all white with a touch of Danish interior that plays a lot with pastel colors to make it more colorful and not monotonous. The furniture is 75% custom, the roof is high, with an open plan system without partitions—to make the dimensions look wider and not stuffy. Something trivial, but crucial: stairs 🪜 Because here we are talking about safety, comfort, and also look—it is fitting in our house. Initially, the stairs on the 1st floor in #RumahSeupil were not like the ones in this photo. It was a complete failure! Steep and messy, I suspected that the craftsman was an amateur. THEN, I changed craftsmen to someone who usually makes iron stairs and the result was much neater and more pleasing to the eye (I don’t know why) like the proportions fit perfectly in the house. It was comfortable to use, not steep at all. The point is, you can’t just make stairs carelessly. You have to be careful in choosing the craftsman, because a real craftsman understands: 1) the distance between 1 step and the other 2) the ideal size of the steps and the height of the railing 3) the choice of iron paint ✨ Want to make your stairs more aesthetic? Instead of using a frame, in #RumahSeupil the door uses a pivot system so it is directly attached to the wall. 😆 Yes, it is more economical! Because the frame is quite expensive, right? My bathroom, my heaven. 🛁 Using 3 types of tiles and 2 types of shower: you can use a bathtub when you want to laze around or just a shower set. HONESTLY, I kind of regret choosing black sanitary, because it stains easily. You have to apply baby oil once a week… black ceramics are also not recommended by Samsek for clean freaks, it will be very annoying!
