The kitchen in this house is integrated with the dining room and laundry area. This makes us often gather here in the morning because all activities are united here. So cooking or washing can chat with those who have breakfast at the dining table. Because there are no large windows, we use a cooker hood to reduce the smell/smoke of cooking. The use of warm white hanging lights also adds a warm atmosphere when gathering with family.

There are still 2 children in this house, so the choice of furniture here is more child-friendly in terms of safety and cleaning. Here are some child-friendly furniture materials in our house:
1. Stairs with SPC and step nosing
Previously, the stairs in this house were made of granite with sharp ends, which made it dangerous for children going up and down the stairs. We coated the granite with SPC and installed a step nose at the end of the elbow so that the elbow was more blunt and safe for children.
2. Furniture with rounded ends such as dining tables, coffee tables, bedside tables, study tables. Most of the tables in our house have rounded ends so as not to injure children.
3. Floor Bed
We customized this bed/divan without legs because when our child was still a baby he was prone to falling while sleeping, so we finally chose a low divan to make it safer for the baby.
4. Sofa with removable backrest and seat covers. So when the sofa is dirty or spilled with liquid, we can immediately wash the cover without the hassle of calling a sofa cleaning service.
5. Short-haired/non-fur carpet. Although in terms of looks and hand feel it is not as good as a thick rug. However, in terms of maintenance and cleaning, this thin carpet is very easy to clean if your little one spills something. And also because it is not hairy, the carpet does not store dust so it is safer for children.

This laundry room is a type of custom furniture that is a bit complicated to design because of its small position in the corner of the room. Plus, the laundry room is integrated with the dining room so it looks as neat as possible so it's comfortable to look at. And what's a bit tricky is because the washing machine in this house is still a top load type so there aren't many design references that we can use as inspiration because most laundry room designs are for front load washing machines.
Finally, after looking for design examples and armed with my own drawings, I created this laundry corner which, although small, was functional. In this laundry room, apart from covering the washing machine to make it look neat, we also added a sink under which there is a cabinet for storing dirty clothes. Behind the backsplash we use it to cover the water faucet hoses and store cleaning tools. To maximize its function, we added a cabinet on top as extra storage for our house which doesn't have a warehouse. Hopefully it will inspire 🤎

This room is 3x3 meters in size so we didn't put much furniture here to keep it spacious. We chose a teak bed and bedside table to match the white and wood theme in this house. For the curtains we used venetian blinds and roller blinds that require minimal maintenance. In addition to its sleeker design, this roller blind can also be used as a projector background for watching movies at night.

The dining room in our house. Not so many details or decorations because it is already full of furniture hihi. So here there are more functional furniture items because of space limitations. The addition of hanging lamps to make the dinner atmosphere feel warmer. The shelves here are also used for additional storage of frequently used items. The table runner also chooses a simple motif to make it more minimalist. And sweetened with a vase of artificial orchids for the dining table decoration.

In the past, when we were looking for a second home in this complex because this is an old cluster, it was a bit difficult to find a house that fit our wishes. When we found this house, its position was on the corner, so it was quite bright and not damp. This is what made us immediately fall in love and fall in love with this house. We didn't renovate anything in the building because it was still quite good, we only made over the interior to make it more homey for our little family.

The children's room is 9 square meters wide. We use upper and lower bunks to save space because this room is used for 2 girls. We paint the walls with simple decorative paint so that it is not monotonous. We choose shelves and tables that are attached to the wall and can be folded to save space. For the floor, we use SPC, besides looking warm, SPC is also warmer than ceramic floors so it is more comfortable for children to sit on the floor.

Some decorative items on a budget in this house that we think add to the effect of making the house more elegant and homey:
1. DIY TV Backdrop
This TV backdrop immediately changes the ambiance in our tiny living room because of its bold color compared to other rooms. Because it requires a large budget if custom interior design. Finally we used wpc flexy board/wallboard combined with black trim and wpc panels so that it looks more elegant but at a very affordable price.

Adding a painting above the sofa in our opinion is also a simple and easy choice but immediately has an impact on changing the atmosphere of the room to be more wow.

This bathroom is still the original home. However, because the ceramic motif is too busy and the floor is starting to look dull. We painted the walls with epoxy paint and the top part was pasted with marble motif wallfoam stickers, while for the floor we painted it with ceramic coating / cerakote. The reason we haven't done a total renovation on the bathroom is because we are not ready for the renovation dust. There are still toddlers in this house so we did a minimal / dust-free renovation, namely by painting and coating stickers that are enough to make our bathroom a little brighter and minimalist.
