โœจEntrance Hallway โœจ

If you ask me, the most aesthetic thing in my house is this hallway area ๐Ÿ˜Š. We really like semi-outdoor concepts like this. So that we can access the outdoors, we use cast Terrazo flooring so that the floor is cool too. Then there is also a garden so it looks cooler and fresher โœจโœจ When you open the main door, the stairs area is the first thing you see, so it is quite a vocal point in my house.

The remaining land in the backyard of this house was one of the factors that made us decide to buy this house.
The remaining land is about 5.5m x 3.5m.
Initially, the developer planted this remaining land with mini elephant grass, and we added some ornamental plants such as beautiful Caribbean banana trees when the flowers hang down, some monstera, horsetail grass, etc.
However, over time and when the rainy season came, we were quite overwhelmed to do the maintenance.
So we decided to make this backyard into a dry garden.
We also added a multifunctional wooden chair that can be used as a chair and table when opened.

The remaining small garden space on the front terrace is utilized in such a way with a dry garden using white coral hardscape and plants that are easy to care for. And added terrace chairs for relaxing in the afternoon

Hi Ohouse friends!

The weather has been super hot lately, right?
Makes me really nervous about going anywhere...
In the afternoon like this, it's really nice to hang out drinking coffee here, because it's already cool...
No need to leave the house in traffic jams to the cafe, buy coffee online and sit in the back garden, it's already cool...

Get excited about Monday, Ohouse friends...

๐Ÿ”† Pros and Cons of Dry Gardens ๐Ÿ”†

Before you decide to make a dry garden, maybe you need to know first what are the pros and cons of this dry garden:

Pros:
๐ŸŽ€ Low maintenance.
๐ŸŽ€ Easier to clean.
๐ŸŽ€ Not much trash.
๐ŸŽ€ Neater.
๐ŸŽ€ Minimal leaf-eating animals.
๐ŸŽ€ Minimal splashes when it rains.

Cons:
๐Ÿ‚ Bigger budget.
๐Ÿ‚ Lots of ants under the synthetic grass.
๐Ÿ‚ Less water absorption.
๐Ÿ‚ Synthetic grass takes a long time to dry if it rains.
๐Ÿ‚ Less oxygen is produced because there are fewer living plants.

Then, do I regret changing the wet garden to a dry garden? No, of course~
This is the best decision I have ever made. Because in the past my wet garden became more and more like a forest if it was not maintained often, splashes of soil when it rained also made the white aluminum door and walls dirty, not to mention various types of plant pests that made me ticklish.

The things I did to overcome the minus points of this dry garden include:
โœจ Reducing the budget on materials that could be reduced, for example: because synthetic grass is quite expensive, so I looked for cheaper white coral stones, and filled the space not too full, it was quite economical for several bags of stones.
โœจ Diligently cleaning synthetic grass with a vacuum cleaner and repelling ants with camphor.
โœจ Making water drainage holes under the synthetic grass, to increase the water flow area in addition to the infiltration under the garden chair.
โœจ Fanning synthetic grass with a fan from the room if you really need to dry the grass quickly ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
โœจ Working around it with potted plants so that the dry garden remains clean but the number of plants is also sufficient to produce oxygen.
