One of the areas in Delasta House that was transformed with affordable materials is the back garden.
Generally, the back garden is designed by one main tree (mostly bonsai trees) which we know the price of one tree can be millions, then usually there are several companion plants to beautify the garden area which cost hundreds of thousands per plant. Not to mention the grass or small plants, which are cheap but need a lot so if the total is hundreds of thousands too.
Well, in Delasta House, the replacement for the bonsai tree is the Balinese pandan tree. This tree is free, aka there is no cost, because coincidentally in front of our house there is a Balinese pandan tree that is already very large, so we cut some of it to fill the garden area.
For the companion plants we use ice candle plants, and for the decoration I use white and black natural stones.
The total cost of making this back garden is less than 1 million (Rp. 928,000).

The facade of this house was not changed much during the renovation, it was only painted according to the desired color

There are changes to the side yard floor, steps are made from cement and gravel is given on the sides to make it more aesthetic

The facade of this house is still the default standard from the developer, because the facade is still not allowed to be changed so I only renovated the garden and carport a little. ๐
In the garden I covered it with concrete roster and I made a garden with aesthetic seating so that it can be used as a place to relax in the afternoon and evening. ๐

โจ From the beginning of building the house, this 3x4 meter area was specifically planned to be a multifunctional space.
Not a leftover land, but deliberately designed so that it can be a small kitchen, dining area, and green spot in the house ๐ฟ
The choice of white and wooden elements was deliberately chosen so that the appearance remains bright, clean, and warm.
The side wall is given a small garden with climbing plants so that there is still a cool nuance even inside the house ๐ฑ
Coral stone and wooden floors are the right combination so that there is still a natural impression.
A slim dining table is placed near the kitchen for efficiency โ but still comfortable for eating with a small family.

Renovation story part 2 - side area
When we first moved here, the old owner positioned this side area as a drying area and warehouse (last slide), and we continued with that.
So far, it has undergone 2 renovations... the first was adding roster bricks so that the drying area is not too exposed.
Well, what's new recently is adding a concrete base in front of it which functions as a water tower at the top and the bottom functions as a side terrace where you can place your shoes before entering the house.
Another change is that the yellow door which was originally the front door was replaced with a new door, then the yellow one was moved to the side area. Then a shoe cabinet was added which was deliberately chosen in black and white to match the batik motif ceramics which were also in the same color.

The landscape in our house has 3 parts, front, right side and back.
Because the house faces East which is hot from morning to noon, we planted the front area with Japanese grass which is resistant to heat and other plants were also chosen that are resistant to heat but still shady with wide leaves in some parts.
The side garden area is only planted with elephant grass to make it more spacious because it is a children's play area, can be used for running, outdoor sports, or picnics.
The back garden area was originally grass but because it was covered by a house building so it didn't get sunlight, the grass growth was not good and because the area was damp the soil became mossy, then we replaced it with gravel.

With a fairly compact house size, we wanted to still have a touch of green in the house. So this is the back garden! We finished the walls with kamprot, then planted calathea which is very easy to care for. FYI, it's only been 2 months since we planted it and it's already this tall, even though it was really short at first. If it gets taller, maybe we'll replace the plants. Any ideas on what plants would be suitable?

Side garden, a small oasis in the midst of hustle and bustle.

This garden measuring 1x6 meters is located next to the dining room to the kitchen
With this garden, air circulation and light entering are very good.

SMR House has a land area of 180m2 with a building area of 90m2, so there is still unbuilt land next to the house of 90m2 which is finally made into a side garden with a small pavilion for a warehouse and a room for the maid.

Gang Senggol Estetik: a source of fresh air and simat for 4 rooms at once!
Who says a house adjacent to a neighbor has to accept the darkness? We got around this by making a 70x600cm side garden so that the 4 rooms next to it get sunlight and fresh air all day long.
The decoration of this garden is quite simple, adjusting to the area. There are only tricolor draceana plants and horsetail grass. In addition, there are also river stones and natural colored coral stones. The paint we chose was white outdoor paint that can reflect light so that the room looks brighter.
Only part of this garden is given a solartuff roof, namely the part where the cleaning tools are put. The rest is roofed with sky and gets light and fresh air. Not only from the roof, fresh air also flows from the roster that faces the terrace in front.
Not only does it function as a garden, but this place is also used to store cleaning tools, and also as an outdoor AC place so that the front facade is not disturbed.
