The modern-industrial facade is a copy of the Japanese house! ๐ฅน๐ฅน
During the renovation we chose a simple and unique facade inspired by modern Japanese houses. The fence was chosen with an exposed cement finish and was inspired by the work of Japanese architect, Tadao Ando.
What makes this facade unique is that it is like boxes that are stacked unevenly so that a 1 meter overhang is formed. This overhang also functions to increase the building area on the 2nd floor.
Apart from the square shape, the monochrome colors of gray and white can give a modern impression, the industrial impression can be obtained from the exposed fence walls and fences made from perforated materials.

Kimkim House carries the LDK concept, Living room - Dining room - Kitchen into one area or open plan. Because space is limited, I decided to use a teak wood dining table with a capacity of 2 people with rattan accents. I like the ethnic feel, so I chose a hanging rayung lampshade above the dining table. And Tadaaa... it's like being in a cafe, right?

Facade at Night ๐ฅน๐
This is what the facade of the Semak House looks like at night. We made it dramatic with downlights and a warm white ceiling so it looks more serene.
As for the bright lights on the terrace, we rarely turn them on, unless we have guests. If it is not lit, the terrace will not be clearly visible because the street lights are brighter than the terrace.
Oh yes, did you know that Semak is an abbreviation for NEXT TO THE GRAVE? Yes, the trees on the left that you see are the public cemetery area. After knowing the facts, do you think it's still beautiful or what? Haha.

MY INNERCOURT AT NIGHT
This is the reason we don't use curtains in the living room and kitchen, because the view of the inner court is too beautiful to be afraid of at night.
We installed ground lamps, hanging lights and spotlights all in warm white colors in the back garden.
Instead of being scary, this park actually seems romantic, warm and calming. We often drink coffee and chat at the long table in the park.

Workspace Update!
There are some differences at the work desk compared to a few months ago. I added:
1. Cushion on the chair to make sitting more comfortable
2. Keyboard stand for more comfortable typing
3. Remove the tablecloth and replace it with a green desk mat that is easy to clean
4. Added a digital clock that only shows the numbers when it's dark
5. Totoro figurine with super cool LED lights!
Since it was cloudy all day, I just turned on all the lamps on the table to get a different atmosphere compared to just turning on the bright lights on the ceiling.
