An open concept house, with large frames that can maximize light and air from outside the house, this concept was inspired by the villa we rented in Bali. That's more or less what we explained to our architect when this house was built. We chose Balinese villa architecture that has a peaceful atmosphere and is at one with nature. ๐ฟ
The tropical modern house is increasingly felt by providing large window openings in almost all the rooms in our house. The choice of interior colors also dominates natural colors because they give a natural impression, giving a more homey impression.

This kitchen is one of the center points in Buaran's house, because the color really stands out. Use colors as much as possible, a combination of green, black and a touch of white. Using a brown mirror as a back splash makes the room look more spacious, with an open concept and blends with the dining room. The division between dirty kitchens and clean kitchens is still applied here.

The terrace of the house is also used to receive temporary guests who do not need to enter our house. The walls are simple white and decorative washed paint, but we decorate it with lots of plant pots to make it look fresher.
For the shoe rack, we prefer it open without a special cabinet because shoes and sandals are often dirty. Next to it are my husband's work shoes and work helmet.

This central area was originally empty. However, little by little, slowly this living room was created.
Because we wanted to maintain a spacious impression, we tried to work around this with a tatami concept living room. The tatami pillows are made from leftover foam/latex from the sofa bed. The table is a coffee table.
As a sweetener, we placed a mini aquarium on the table which became a vocal point and room decoration.

Green zone in the house

Our home kitchen & dining room styling: simple, warm, and still functional.
We combine our custom multiplex kitchen set with a granite cast table to keep it sturdy and durable. Granite finishing is the choice to keep it clean and timeless.
The focal point? Of course, the brick-colored backsplash that we chose after much scrollingโcombined with touches of wood and green to keep it in line with the tropical theme in the house.
For the dining room, just one teak table and minimal decoration. Less clutter, more character.

This dining room is where we gather and where we usually receive guests. When building a house, I thought about making an island table between the kitchen set and dining table. However, because the desire to have a dining table was quite high for a large family, in the end the plan was defeated. This dining table is made of wood with asymmetrical sides. The choice of dining chairs is also deliberately not uniform, with a bench on one side. If we have a lot of guests, we use "meatball" benches on both sides.
During the day, this dining table sometimes changes its function to a work desk. Meanwhile, at night, the mood is usually quite pampered with the play of light rays from decorative lights and spotlights from the swimming pool.

Favorite moment is weekend morning because it's time to gather with family in the living room. The morning sunlight that enters from the void area into our open living space feels warm.
On normal days we only play with our children before going to work and after work. On Saturdays and Sundays we can spend a full day with our children, making breakfast and food, playing, and relaxing.
In addition to the living room, our family's new favorite spot with our children is the rooftop area. With a synthetic grass area where children can run around and play ball, we also use it to sunbathe. โ๏ธ
