Here is my DIY abstract art tutorial that cost less than $30 each! 1. you will need a canvas. Mine is a 24 x 36. Measure a 3 inch border and use painters tape to tape it off. 2. Paint the border whatever color you desire. Mine is a natural linen color. I did a 1:1 ratio of the paint I had on hand and white to create a custom, light and neutral color. 3. Use joint compound and a 3 inch putty knife to create checkers. Alternate horizontal and vertical strokes. 4. Create the border. I used a thin piece of trim and applied wood stain with a foam brush. 5. Nail the trim into the existing canvas frame 6. Hang, and admire your work! #diy #abstractart #bedroominspo
