The lighting atmosphere in my room before breaking the fast & after sahur✨ Here I played with lighting from inside the room and lighting from outside. When I want to rest, I use a warm colored night light and a warm colored hanging lamp near the bed area too. Meanwhile, for the outside lights, I used a 20 watt white spotlight lamp. The most comfortable room, dream since childhood✨ Having my own room has been my dream since I was little, and it only came true when my older sister got married. This is an empty room that I finally renovated from my own salary. Of course, this room is a sweet spot for me. I put all my preferences, personality and habits into this room design. I turned the garden in front of the house which had been annoying because there were lots of bats and looked scary, so I turned it into an "advantage" of this room. I really like sitting and looking at the trees during golden hours or 12.00-15.00. I think the sunlight penetrating through the leaves & swaying branches is really beautiful🥺✨ Therefore, for this special spot I really selected the existing furniture. Of course, apart from aesthetics, I want furniture that is functional and in harmony with the style of my room. Like the Helsinki work desk from iFURNHOLIC which has lots of compartments so my room is tidier. For the work chair, I chose a simple and modern cutting from IKEA, namely the JARVFJALLET work chair. For additional storage, I DIYed my own wall shelf with gold foil so it had a gold mirroring look, for the base I used Dutch teak boards to make it cheaper. Aesthetic-functional wall shelves in the work area For those of you who have a lot of stuff, wall shelves could be a solution! For document storage, I recommend buying a wall shelf with a width of 30cm! For my own wall shelf, the dimensions are 100x30cm. I DIY it myself to save budget! Little hack, if you want a low budget wall shelf, you can buy it separately! I bought these wall shelf brackets on Shopee for just 25,000! And for the boards, you can buy used Dutch teak wood which costs 6,500 with a size of 100x10cm. So the total price is just 69,500 for one shelf ✨ So, to make it a little fancier and match the contemporary art deco style in my room, I coated this wall shelf using gold foil leaf with a coating so that it lasts a long time. Goodbye Scandinavian, Hello Artdeco Contemporary! Different from the interests of most people who like Scandinavian style, my taste falls on a style that is not very popular in Indonesia, namely Artdeco Contemporary. However, pursuing this concept is still difficult because there is not much furniture or decorative items in the contemporary art deco style. So the decoration elements and furniture in this bedroom initially tended to be more Scandinavian style. To eliminate the Scandinavian style in my room, I replaced some of the wood finishes with peach pink and gold colors. Like the mattress that I covered with a headboard in the shape of cupcakes that I bought at the Shopee HeyJune store! Apart from that, I also covered the wooden wall shelves with pink terrazzo motif furniture stickers. I also chose furniture and decoration items with an arch shape. Such as photo frames, work chairs and hanging lamps. I DIYed some of the gold accents in my room myself with gold leaf, because it's difficult to find art deco decorations with gold accents here. The costs I spent to get rid of this Scandinavian style were quite a lot and I did it gradually one by one. For example, to change the look to gold accents with gold leaf, I spent around IDR 200,000 for all items. To change the look of wood with terrazzo furniture stickers, the budget costs around Rp. 180,000, for a custom nightstand around 1.4 million and for the bed headboard, the budget costs around 438,000. Classic night light for a warm feel✨ This night light was a birthday gift from my friend. The shape is simple, but fits the contemporary artdeco room theme in my bedroom. Creating A Persona In The Bedroom My bedroom has a feminine & warm impression with a combination of peach pink and natural hemlock wood. Pink bedroom for mature women why not?!? Pink rooms are often identified by school-aged children. So when they grow up they are often embarrassed to wear pink. Even though you can use pink bedroom decorations for adults! Yep, using warm and calmer peach pink paint gives a more mature & elegant impression. Combined with a matching colored headboard arranged in a curved shape, as well as a pink bedcover with a simple floral motif. In order to create color balance in the room, you can combine other materials and colors as accents. For example, here I combined it with white paint and a terrazzo table top. Apart from that, for materials, I combined it with natural hemlock color for the floor and gold accents in the decoration. Flexible Content Spot✨ Apart from being a spot where I put plants, I sometimes use this area as a place for my content. This angle is the place most exposed to golden hours light, so it can produce clear video shoots. "Using" a table made of potted plants and a terrazzo table top from my nightstand that can be removed, I created a background for my own content. Buriq wardrobe makeover so it's aesthetic✨ This is an old cupboard at home that has been there since I was in elementary school. So there are a lot of pre-historic relics, aka evil stickers, that damage the surface of this cupboard whose interior film layer has rotted. Apart from that, the surface of the cupboard has also been badly damaged, plus the color of the cupboard which has dark green accents does not match the interior concept of the room. However, because the shape of this old school cupboard still fits the concept of my #artdecocontemporary style room, I finally decided to just change the appearance of the cupboard. To be honest, painting this cupboard was a bit of a mistake... because I used duco paint which is not suitable for fabricated wood materials. But... even though it's a mistake, the results aren't bad hahah🫣 the process is quite complicated and long because it takes 8 stages and I did it myself for a month (not the full time). To make this buriq cupboard look a little high class, I minimized the cupboard key hole so that the cupboard cutting is more seamless. But for the cupboard door on the far right, it is quite difficult to remove the lock because the iron layer is rusty and damaged. Apart from that, I also replaced the cupboard handles with brass to give a luxurious impression. Contemporary Artdeco style in the bedroom My bedroom is inspired by a cafe in Bandung which has a contemporary art deco style with shades of peach pink. The artdeco style can be seen from the round gold hanging lamp, and the wall shelves with gold brackets. For the study table itself, it is more Scandinavian, but to make it a little relevant I chose a simple cutting. For the materials themselves, I chose a nightstand table top made of terrazzo, as well as furniture handles with gold accents. Custom bedside table design from terrazzo so it feels like sleeping in a cafe ☕️ To be honest, I'm a lover of terrazzo materials, especially pastel & pink colors✨ But it's a shame that there aren't many variations in the processing of this material in Indonesia. I tried looking for a bedside table model with this model but it was very difficult and almost didn't exist. Finally, I decided to design my own custom bedside table by looking for various vendors that suited my taste & budget. For the terrazzo table top, I custom made it from IG: @onyxhomeliving_terrazzo who has experience exporting terrazzo. Apart from that, there are lots of cute variations of terrazzo. To make it look more natural, the body of the nightstand/bedside table uses wood that I customized from @asheshomeid because the price is very affordable and the design results met my expectations. Meanwhile, to give a "luxury" impression, I added gold accents to the nightstand, such as on the drawer pulls and furniture legs that I bought separately on Shopee. For the nightstand design itself, I deliberately made a terrazzo table top that was not permanently attached to the bedside table. So the table top can be multifunctional as a product photo base too. For the drawer accent, I made a line ornament to harmonize with the existing furniture & room interior concept. I also made the middle of the drawer body open. There are 2 advantages; namely to be more economical because you don't use a lot of wood, and so that the nightstand remains okay when placed in the middle of the room. Same spot at different times✨ This is an awkward space in my room, originally filled with ficus elastica and yellow palm. But in the end the yellow pakem died because it was infected by mealybugs when it was drying outside😭 So I sometimes use empty pots to create content spots by covering them with a terrazzo table top that I can move around. Because this area gets golden hours light which is really good on camera! Haha.
