When we purchased this house, we loved the #flatpanel kitchen cabinets, but did not like the beige Corion countertops and lack of a #backsplash. To let the cabinets shine we chose a matte finish elongated #hexagontile to add interest but not compete with the cabinets. New appliances completed the update. This range is the highlight of my kitchen. It air fries and it has a convection oven. The oven steam cleans and the cooktop wipes down so easily. I highly recommend the #GEprofile appliances.

Having a compact kitchen doesn't mean it can't be functional! I use a straight one wall layout, which is suitable for small kitchens because it saves more space and all work areas are arranged in a straight line—more efficient and doesn't make it stuffy.
To make the kitchen feel more spacious, I chose a white kitchen set & backsplash for a brighter and airier effect. Plus, the upper cabinets are partly open, so it doesn't feel heavy in a limited space.

This kitchen area was originally only 1.6m which we added a little to make it an L shape like this.
for the kitchen we made sure all the cabinets were maximized according to our needs at home, there is a dish rack above the cooker hood because there is actually no more space in this kitchen.

This kitchen space is located at the very back of the house area. There was a design miscalculation, resulting in only a small amount of land left for the kitchen area.
Luckily the architect had a concept to create a minimalist #interiordapur while still carrying the industrial theme.
A straight layout is used to utilize the narrow area. The kitchen interior remains consistent in using the same gray stone color as the floor. The remaining floor tiles are used for the backsplash.
The use of matching color tones from the interior and cooking utensils supports this small kitchen to look spacious, right?!
The kitchen cabinet is made without external handles, to create a simple, clean impression.

Everything in this kitchen is budget friendly. Starting from the lower cabinet from Pira Home which was originally 150x40cm wide, then I added a counter top made of wooden planks covered with hemlock type paperive so that the width is now 150x60cm.
The backsplash is also the same, made of planks covered with everdeen marble type paperive.
I have been using this method for about 2 years and so far it is still safe and very functional.

Kitchen Organizing Ideas for Small Kitchen 🤍
As the owner of a small kitchen, organizing the kitchen to remain neat, aesthetic, and fit various kitchen equipment is quite a challenge.
Some things that I apply in the kitchen #rumahmaknaa:
1. Trying to fit all items into the cabinet. Since the small kitchen table is only 180cm, the table top is only for oil bottles and cutting boards. The rest is put into the cabinet and some are stored on open shelves.
2. Choosing to use cabinet drawers with drawer mode so that storage can be adjusted according to category. The result is more maximum storage.
3. Custom drawers with partitions to store cutlery and cooking utensils.
4. Using additional storage that makes it easy to take items. For example, I use a storage divider to store cooking utensils or store standing plates by storing them on a plate rack.
5. Using stackable storage boxes to maximize storage space on the shelves. For example, a food stock box in the top cabinet of the kitchen or a place for onions on an open shelf.
I think the key to organizing kitchen equipment is to arrange them by category, make sure everything is visible, and easy to access. Oh yeah, to keep the kitchen tidy, don't forget to declutter regularly.

🔆 Open Space Kitchen and Dining 🔆
Because the area of this house is not too big, I applied the open space concept in almost all rooms, including the kitchen and dining table areas.
For the color palette, I carried a more dominant gray-white-black-and light wood color, beautified with green artificial plant decorations and other decorative items that are not only beautiful but can also be used to support activities in the kitchen and dining room.
There are quite a lot of shelves in our house, because that is our effort to maximize the space on the walls as a place to store goods because it is not possible to use many cabinets. The homework is that you have to be smart in choosing the items that we will put on the shelves.

Kitchen and dining room with an open space concept! 📸
The rearmost area of our house is the dining area which is also integrated with the kitchen. Although the concept of our house is open space, we separate the family room area from the kitchen area using a sliding door. The reason is simple, to emphasize the room and also when cooking activities the smell of cooking does not spread too much to all parts of the house.
The kitchen area is made open space to make it easier to cook and eat together, because it is next to each other in my opinion it is more effective.
