𝘽𝒆𝙛𝒐𝙧𝒆 & 𝑨𝙛𝒕𝙚𝒓 Kitchen #rumahlimut Why did #rumahlimut choose 𝒘𝙝𝒊𝙩𝒆 𝒌𝙞𝒕𝙘𝒉𝙚𝒏? These are some of my considerations: ▫️ 𝑻𝙞𝒎𝙚𝒍𝙚𝒔𝙨 𝘼𝒑𝙥𝒆𝙖𝒍: I think white will never get boring and is suitable for the long term. ▫️ 𝑩𝙧𝒊𝙜𝒉𝙩 & 𝘼𝒊𝙧𝒚: light colors reflect light, so the room feels bright & spacious. ▫️ Flexibility: white can be easily combined with any color & decoration. ▫️ 𝙍𝒆𝙨𝒂𝙡𝒆 𝑽𝙖𝒍𝙪𝒆: almost everyone is "safe" with white, so the selling value of a house will be maintained with a kitchen of this color. ▫️ Clean appearance: is the impression that every dream kitchen wants to display. ▫️ Easy to change the atmosphere: by simply adding accessories or kitchen appliances, you can easily change the atmosphere without having to renovate. This #rumahlimut kitchen has undergone two renovations. In 2016, we changed the floor from the old kitchen, 𝒌𝙞𝒕𝙘𝒉𝙚𝒏 𝒔𝙚𝒕 and 𝙨𝒊𝙣𝒌, and still used the closed kitchen concept. In 2021, renovation by increasing the ceiling height and adding storage cabinets 𝙠𝒊𝙩𝒄𝙝𝒆𝙣 𝙨𝒆𝙩 𝙛𝒖𝙡𝒍 to the ceiling, adding 𝙖𝒓𝙚𝒂 𝒑𝙖𝒏𝙩𝒓𝙮, adding 𝒂𝙧𝒆𝙖 𝙗𝒂𝙠𝒊𝙣𝒈, opening the wall and adding a 𝙞𝒔𝙡𝒂𝙣𝒅 table. The biggest change lies in the opening of the wall from the dining room/tv to the kitchen, changing the concept of a closed kitchen to an open plan. The island table feature is the best decision and changes the atmosphere and daily activities such as cooking, eating and watching TV can be done simultaneously. A small change to our PVC ceiling is by adding a 𝙬𝒐𝙤𝒅 𝒃𝙚𝒂𝙢𝒔 directly creating a contrasting texture and color to the overall 𝒘𝙝𝒊𝙩𝒆 𝒌𝙞𝒕𝙘𝒉𝙚𝒏 theme. The texture & color of the wood adds character & makes the atmosphere warmer. One that is easy to maintain, functional, but still aesthetic. because we are a couple who save energy (aka: lazy 😆) we have to make sure that the room that is used most often can be easily cleaned and tidied, can meet the storage space needed so that all the items have a home, and remains pleasing to the eye. So we have some tips: 1. Maximize the top cabinet to the ceiling Apart from providing lots of storage space, cleaning efforts are also easier because we don't have to clean the top surface of the cabinet which is in direct contact with the ceiling. We just clean the front side. 2. Use a glossy backsplash Cleaning it just needs to be wiped, it doesn't require a lot of energy or a lot of time. Always try to clean up after cooking activities. 3. Timeless design White n wood never fails. Anyway, using this color theme will last for years to come. 🍴 Small Transformation, Big Impact: My Dream Kitchen Story ✨ Initially, this kitchen was just a small corner that was underutilized. Empty walls, a narrow sink area, and minimal storage space made cooking activities feel uncomfortable. But I believe that the kitchen is the heart of the home — where warmth and creativity begin. So, I slowly started making small changes to realize my version of a ‘dream kitchen’. 🌟 The first step was to choose white for all the cabinets. Why white? Because besides making the room look brighter and more spacious, white nuances give the impression of being clean and calm — two important things for me when cooking. 🤍 Then, I added hanging cabinets on top. This is a smart solution to add storage space without taking up space! Now, spices, cooking utensils, and other equipment can be neatly arranged and easily accessed. For the lower area, I chose minimalist cabinets without striking handles so that it still looks clean and modern. I also pay attention to small details, such as natural light from above that brightens the kitchen without daytime lights, and choosing multifunctional equipment to keep the kitchen compact but maximally functional. There are also personal touches such as pastel pink on the rice cooker and other kitchen appliances so that there is still a "me" side. 💖 From this process I learned: a dream kitchen doesn't always have to start with a major renovation.
