In my house, the living room is combined with a mini pantry with a total size of 3x9 meters. This open space concept makes the house feel more spacious, airy, and comfortable, especially for gathering with family. However, to keep the room looking neat and tidy, I worked around it with the following steps:
1. Using a carpet as a visual divider
Placing a simple patterned carpet in the living room area to create a visual divider between the living room and the pantry. In addition to functioning as decoration, this carpet also gives a warm and comfortable impression to the room.
2. Choosing multifunctional furniture
An L-shaped sofa is the main choice. In addition to giving a modern impression, this sofa has hidden storage space underneath, which is very useful for storing items such as extra pillows or children's toys.
3. Minimalist hanging cabinet with wood motif
In the pantry, I use a hanging cabinet with a wood motif to match the theme of the house. This cabinet not only beautifies the room, but also makes the pantry area tidier by hiding kitchen utensils in it.
4. Functional decoration
By adding glass jars to store tea / coffee in the pantry. In addition to being functional, these jars are also interesting decorative elements. In the family room, I added some small ornamental plants to add a fresh and natural impression.
With the right combination of furniture, simple decorations, and efficient arrangement, the living room and pantry at home still feel neat, comfortable, and functional even though they are in one open space area. A simple house can still look beautiful and well-organized.
