The clue is green, in a pot... It's none other than the artificial monstera plant in the corner under the stairs๐ชด It's been on my wishlist for a long time but how come I haven't found anything that suits me... For finally being a new comer in my house ๐ค

Hi !
While occupying this house, we renovated the back part using construction services.
The initial design from the developer was a bathroom under the stairs in the living room area.
Because it didn't suit our wishes, we 'moved' the downstairs bathroom to the back area, along with the kitchen.
We built all of these areas using construction services from our relatives.
Bathroom, laundry area, and roof construction using concrete slabs so that when we have more 'budget', we will continue to have a third bedroom above the kitchen.
We do not use the services of special architects or interior designers.
Armed with the design sketches that we mutually agreed on, this kitchen area became...

Home story
Initially after getting married we were confused about where we would live. After looking for several housing references and considering them, we finally chose to live in a cluster and guarded by 24-hour security so that it would be safer. In addition, we prefer a calm and quiet atmosphere so that we can rest better.

โจ Definition of a dream house, the first time I saw this cluster I immediately fell in love with the facade of the house.
๐๏ธ The area I like the most in this house is the open space area, where the living room, dining room, & kitchen are combined so it feels spacious.
โจ Every corner is mostly accented with wood according to the theme of the Japandi house.
๐ชจ Looks like a house that was originally plain & empty, especially the middle area. It changed completely after the furniture was added. Homey & cozy.

Wow, I can't believe it's already December. For me who celebrates Christmas, it doesn't seem complete if the house doesn't have Christmas decorations... Hihi, so I will magic up the stairs!! ๐ I put Christmas decorations / garlands along the staircase handles so that it gets more of a Christmas atmosphere and of course a holiday atmosphere too ๐๐๐

This is the stair corridor area in our house!
Default from the developer with sizes and colors that we have not changed. We only added a door that can be locked when our child can just walk, to make it safer.
In the stair entrance area, I decorated it using 2 floating shelves of different sizes.
And fill it with aesthetic vase displays, photo frames, candle holders, dummy books and so on.
Along the stairs area, we also filled the walls using photos of our happy moments.
To make it seem spacious, I made an 'industrial mirror' in that area.

The journey of buying a house
Initially before getting married we boarded in Sudirman, then when we wanted to buy a house in Jakarta it was really hard. Finally a friend of my husband informed us that there was a new housing complex in Sawangan. Armed with this information, we surveyed and ended up paying for it straight away because it was sold out really quickly.
Bought a house by looking at the brochure because the housing complex was still in the form of land. Type 45/120 which we bought in 2015. We started living in it in 2017. In 2020, thank God, there was good fortune to build the land at the back of the house.

Our dining room is combined with the living room with an open space concept. So we always adjust the decoration to the theme. In December it's Christmas, January-February Chinese New Year, March-April Easter, and I'm still thinking about other months, hehe. So that our dining table can accommodate more people, we deliberately use benches to accommodate more people.

If asked what room I like the most, I like all rooms...
But because this bed is a place to rest, this is my most comfortable and favorite place...
A place where I recharge my energy. At night and sometimes during the day.
To make it comfortable and aesthetic, I put a dressing table in the corner of this room to put on make-up and just use skincare after showering.
Additional shelves and several decorative items above the mattress headboard, and a wardrobe that is measured and maximized as much as possible until it attaches to the ceiling so that it has a large capacity.
The interesting story in filling this room is that the wall panels used as headboards and dressing tables were DIY by my husband and I. We make everything as good as possible. So it's even more effective...

There are so many stories in finding this house...
I already had a booking fee and it failed due to incompatibility.
We were looking for a house before we got married.
Until finally finding the "right" one after 3 years of marriage.
This house building is from the developer. What we changed was only the position of the downstairs bathroom and kitchen.
Our definition of an ideal home is a comfortable home. A home that brings warmth, which is always a goal when we are far away.

One of the 'attractions' of this living room is the standing mirror next to the sofa bed...

What angle is this?
Still in the stairs area, there is an empty space upstairs after the stairs door.
Next to it there is a large window for air to come in and out, I filled this space with wooden shelves which I decorated with simple details.
Random, just arranged by 'feeling' so it doesn't look empty.
