The bedroom which was previously used for storage purposes was finally transformed into this after a makeover using shiplap wall battens and painted "picnic summer" green.
The reason for choosing green on the wall panel walls is to make the room feel fresher and more colorful, while at the same time matching several decoration items which mostly combine with the color green.

In building a Scandinavian themed house, I looked for inspiration through the Pinterest and Instagram applications. Starting from the facade design, main door, to bedroom makeover, we do not use the services of an architect.
For the facade, we chose a triangular roof design with high doors and windows to suit the size of the house's ceiling which is almost 4 meters high. Meanwhile, for the bedroom, we also did a self-makeover by ordering wall batten and choosing the paint ourselves without the help of an interior design expert. The advantage of designing without experts is that it is of course more budget-saving. But the minus is that the design doesn't come together as a unified theme, or it could be less neat.

This house was built from 0, on land at the end of a quiet alley. One of the favorite locations for introverts 👀
The mini greenhouse next to the house is a favorite area for me as a side activity for gardening and selling plants online.
🌿The third slide is when the mini greenhouse was made, it was built more or less a year after we moved into our house.

Everything is in progress, no need to rush..

Finally we succeeded in making a DIY Wall Batten on the wall in the bedroom, which was painted pastel green. Materials were purchased online and installation was done by myself.
It is given a green color because many knick-knacks in the house are green, such as stools, bed sheets, cushions, pots, and so on.
For the floor, since the beginning it was built, wood-patterned ceramics have been used, so they are more durable.

The initial concept of this house was Scandinavian because the ceiling was quite high, almost 4 meters. There are also several windows that are high enough to maximize the entry of more sunlight and better air circulation.

In this straight kitchen, various kinds of roofs are provided under the kitchen cabinet to accommodate many needs. For example, there is a 2-level wooden shoe rack that is transformed into a rack for pans and pots. There is also a plate and glass rack, soap rack, food storage box next to it.
For the top of the kitchen / top table, only a few kitchen utensils are placed for food preparation such as a place for spices, a place for spoons and forks, a place for oil, a cutting board and also a rice cooker.
Several other kitchen utensils are placed on shelves and hung on the kitchen bar, which also serves as decoration in the kitchen.

For the open space living room concept, you can freely shift the position of the sofa and other furniture. For the current position as in the picture, the gray sofa can be an alternative partition between the living room and the TV room. With this concept, it also makes it easier for us to hold events that invite many people such as pengajian, 'selametan' etc. You only need to shift/empty the items so that you can get a free and wide enough floor to roll out a large carpet, especially since the surrounding walls are painted white, adding to the spacious impression.

Currently there are no kitchen cabinets or custom shelves installed in our kitchen. So we just mixed and matched shelves that we bought at home decor stores such as IKEA & Informa, as well as 2-tiered wooden shelves for arranging glasses and spice stock.
In arranging our small kitchen, it was decided to use 3 main colors (according to the theme of the house), namely black, white and wood. The kitchen design that we chose also conforms to the principles of these 3 colors so that it looks harmonious even though it can't be said to be a proper kitchen (because there are no cabinets yet). Apart from that, the presence of live plants such as air plants & artificial plants in the kitchen can also liven up the atmosphere 🪴✨ Thank God.

In choosing items for kitchen use as well as decoration that can add aesthetics, I choose items that match in color, namely white, wood and black.
Many of the items I bought were under IDR 100k, such as a ceramic onion holder, ceramic spoon set and rattan egg holder. Even for a rattan egg holder as cute as that, I only bought it for IDR 25k, you know... but it can change the atmosphere, as well as functioning as an egg holder.
So, every time I buy something, I usually don't just prioritize aesthetics, but if possible the item is also functional ✅✨

In this house there is no customized furniture because when filling the house, we bought furniture in installments little by little, so that it could be like now. The items we customize are the main door, bedroom door and bathroom door
For the main door, we used wood color with striped accents. Meanwhile, to differentiate the colors of the bedroom door and bathroom door, we used a combination of black and white. The bedroom is colored white with a black frame, while the bathroom door is completely black.
