As soon as you open the door, you are immediately greeted by this area. Yes, we designed this foyer as a starting point that gives a very warm & mid-century vibe to guests who come (and also to ourselves when we return home).
✨ The wooden slat wall was deliberately made to stand out — not only as a visual statement, but also to add privacy. So, the view from the entrance does not directly penetrate the family room. It is calmer, more organized.
✨ This table is multifunctional: not just a console, but also a hidden shoe rack. Keeps the area tidy without sacrificing function.
✨ There is a round backlit mirror for quick touch-ups before leaving the house, and some functional decorations such as a key bowl & diffuser for a fresh scent.
✨ Don't forget to also have green plants so that when you enter the house it immediately feels alive and cool.

Wooden door
At home I use 2 types of doors, 3 eh hehe, for areas that are not wet, such as rooms, I use open mahogany doors that are painted salak brown, while for doors in wet areas, such as bathrooms and laundry rooms, I use aluminum, for the main door, it's new. use a glass door. This is the entryway corner that I arranged with the aim of creating a neat and functional first impression. This wooden cabinet with four compartments is very helpful in storing shoes and sandals, so that this area remains organized. Its simple and clean design is also in line with the minimalist industrial concept that I apply in my house.
Above the cabinet, I added some decorative elements such as books and small plants to give a personal touch without losing the minimalist impression. The decoration on the wall that says 'Sabr' is a good reminder, giving a calm nuance every time I or guests pass through this area.
The blue curtains installed on the windows also add a color accent that balances with the wooden elements. In addition to functioning to maintain privacy, the color makes the room feel fresher.
Overall, this area is not only a storage place, but is also expected to welcome guests with a neat, comfortable, and aesthetic atmosphere.

Renovation story part 6 "door"
This main door has undergone two changes, the first was that the developer's default door was changed to a yellow French door.
This first renovation didn't have much drama, the only problem was that the quality of the doors didn't meet expectations.
The second change from the yellow door to a woven pattern door with one way glass accents. This is where patience is tested 🤭, it turns out that changing the size of the door is not as easy as imagined... the door can't just be replaced but has to be broken down, put on a frame, wait for the frame to be sturdy, install the door, take it off again, finish with paint and then install it again... this process takes time. 1 week beyond the time the door was made. Alone (this is PO 3 weeks). How are you interested in replacing the door too??

"Simple but still Modern"
The concept we wanted when planning the construction of this house.
This house located in a rice field area carries a modern tropical style with a dominance of mocha and gray colors that give a calm and modern impression, but still blend in with the tropical environment. With an asymmetrical gable roof shape and minimalist black triangular windows at the top, it creates visual dynamics while allowing natural lighting to enter the interior of the house.
The roster accent on the right side functions as a passive ventilation and textured visual ornament. While on the left side there is a small garden in front of the house decorated with ornamental plants and white coral stones, adding a cool and neat impression. The black expanded metal fence gives a modern and light impression, maintaining privacy but still showing the beauty of the facade.

🔆 Low Budget White Facade 🔆
I used to really want to have a house with a gable roof facade, but after considering it seemed heavy on the construction and maintenance budget, I finally got a house with this very minimalist facade.
The facade is just a box and a sloping model on the roof so that there is no need for gutters on the right and left sides, so rainwater just falls to the front of the house. This model also requires minimal maintenance, because there is no problem with clogged and overflowing gutters and can affect seepage into the walls or leaks.
The facade that still uses corrugated asbestos as its roof, was chosen because it is cheap compared to tiles, but the downside is that the house feels a bit hotter than using tiles.
In the past, this facade and terrace area were first painted sky blue and white, then changed to soft gray and white, but in the end I decided to paint all the walls and fences white so that they are cleaner and fresher.
The entrance to this house has 2 openings in the fence, the side is only big enough for people to enter and exit, and the front is for vehicles to enter and exit.
The front uses a folding fence because there is no access to the right and left walls, all fences.
This house is located in a densely populated area in an alley, so it took quite an effort to photograph the front of this facade because the size of the front road only fits one car. But it seems not bad for the size of a house in an alley, ehehehe 🤭

Well, to keep it comfortable and not feel stuffy, there are several things you can apply:
✨ Choose proportional furniture - don't let the sofa or table be too big and "take up space".
✨ Use neutral and earthy colors so that the room remains cool to look at, even though there is minimal decoration.
✨ Use carpets or lighting to differentiate zones, without having to make permanent partitions.
✨ Keep it neat - because everything is combined, the room quickly looks messy if one spot is not neat.

This is the main entrance (located on the 1st floor) and the facade of our house from the 2nd floor. It is a bit difficult to fit both in 1 photo because the position of the house does not allow it.
For the entrance door, we chose to use solid wood with a walnut brown finish and lattice, in harmony with the motif on the kitchen set. Next to it is a dead window as one of the sources of lighting for the house. As a sweetener, in front of the window we placed a monstera king with a terrazzo pot.
The facade of the 2nd floor is actually still the developer's default facade with a few modifications, because there are windows for the main bedroom and also the bathroom. So that it is not too monotonous, we added a checkered accent to the window.
