Welcome to ナマのおうち ‘Namanouchi’ aka the house of Nama. We bought this house in 2022, a year after we returned from migrating for 5 years in Kanazawa, Japan. We didn't do much renovation in this house, we still used the developer's original design, and only created the ambience according to the theme we wanted, namely Retro Japan or Mid-century Japanese house ❤️🏠 To create a house with a Mid-century Japanese house theme, we relied a lot on adding typical mid-century decorative objects plus various displays which were actually items we used every day when we still lived in Japan. Like the red 'Randoseru' bag that our daughter used to go to elementary school there, wooden bento containers, and even paper bags left over from shopping. Apart from that, to strengthen the mid-century elements in this house, we also displayed vintage vinyl players, decorative lamps, vintage carpets, and custom furniture dominated by walnut wood nuances 🤎 #midcenturyjapan #roomdecorinspo #homeaesthetic #retrojapan

The main theme of this house style is mid-century Japan. We tried to adapt the mid-century theme which is generally dominated by solid wood characters, loose furniture, with deep color tones and a little pop out from various additional decorations. We also added the character of a 'Japanese home in Showa era' which is more 'clutter' compared to 'Japanese zen home' or 'Japanese minimalism'. For now, only the 1st floor can we give a touch of mid-century Japan.
