Rooftop Garden • eco-friendly & budget-friendly idea for tropical oasis Living in Jakarta in a cluster house area with buildings that are still standard by developers encouraged me to create this room with a very limited budget during the pandemic crisis. You understand... how boring it is to live in a small house that doesn't have a garden because of limited land. For that reason, we transformed the 3rd floor into a space for a family room, relaxing room, barbeque place, as well as a multi-purpose room for drying clothes haha... Salfok and the stairs? Here's an eco-friendly and budget-friendly tip, I made this stair railing from teak wood twigs which were polished so they were more durable, dried so they wouldn't get moldy easily and then attached them to the stairs, what do you think? If asked when is my favorite moment at home and where do I do it? My favorite moment or time at home is when my husband and children have gone to work and school. So of course in the morning after I'm done busy preparing their needs. Usually I spend 30 minutes to an hour on the rooftop terrace above and one more place on the terrace below. Just having tea/coffee while reading a favorite book or novel. I mention metime and reward for resting my body before continuing other household activities. Sitting on a beanbag or lounge chair enjoying the cool morning air. Even accompanied by the chirping of birds. Sliding Door Balcony area.. We custom made this aluminum sliding door with a length of approximately 4 meters and a height of 2.5 meters. The type of door is a hanging door which has the disadvantage that if there is wind, water can enter the indoor area through the hole below, but this can be overcome a little by installing bamboo curtains like the villas in Bali.
