#rumahmaknaa

In our opinion, the most aesthetic room in #rumahmaknaa is this mini foyer area.

A credenza with a Japanese design and a round mirror are the focal points of this area. We added decorations with white, wood, black and green tones. In choosing decorations, apart from paying attention to appearance, we also consider function because we want our decoration items to be not only beautiful but also functional.

Hello!
Greetings from the kitchen #rumahmaknaa.
We designed this kitchen ourselves, modified from several references that we like. Then we customized it to the kitchen set vendor.

The size of our kitchen set is only 180 cm but we try to make the most of it. One of them is a movable kitchen island so that if we need a larger gathering area we can move the kitchen island.

Our kitchen area design is Japandi Industrial. We combine bold colors and raw (metal) accents with natural colors, grille accents and wood. Apart from that, we also added green color from artificial plants to make it look fresher.

Hopefully it will inspire 🤍🤍🤍

In my opinion, the most aesthetic room in #rumahmaknaa is the Kitchen & Dining Room.

When choosing kitchen decorations, I always try to choose things that are functional as well as aesthetic. Natural wood, white and black are always my choices. I also added green accents from artificial plants as well as real plants.

The area in #rumahmaknaa that has the most natural light is the ground floor, especially the mini foyer and kitchen area. Light comes from a tall window next to the foyer's mini credenza. Moreover, #rumahmaknaa faces east so that lots of light comes in in the morning.

The light from the window can make photos of the kitchen area more attractive and the house brighter so you don't need to turn on the lights during the day. However, to be honest, there is not as much light coming in now as before because we have installed a canopy in the front area.

The photos on slides 4 & 5 are photos of the area near the window before the tree in front of the house was cut down and the canopy had not been installed. Honestly, I really miss this view 🥺.

Kitchen Organizing Ideas for Small Kitchen 🤍

As the owner of a small kitchen, organizing the kitchen to remain neat, aesthetic, and fit various kitchen equipment is quite a challenge.

Some things that I apply in the kitchen #rumahmaknaa:

1. Trying to fit all items into the cabinet. Since the small kitchen table is only 180cm, the table top is only for oil bottles and cutting boards. The rest is put into the cabinet and some are stored on open shelves.

2. Choosing to use cabinet drawers with drawer mode so that storage can be adjusted according to category. The result is more maximum storage.

3. Custom drawers with partitions to store cutlery and cooking utensils.

4. Using additional storage that makes it easy to take items. For example, I use a storage divider to store cooking utensils or store standing plates by storing them on a plate rack.

5. Using stackable storage boxes to maximize storage space on the shelves. For example, a food stock box in the top cabinet of the kitchen or a place for onions on an open shelf.

I think the key to organizing kitchen equipment is to arrange them by category, make sure everything is visible, and easy to access. Oh yeah, to keep the kitchen tidy, don't forget to declutter regularly.
Hopefully it's useful 🤍.

Hello everyone
If you are aware, the ceiling above the kitchen #rumahmaknaa is black. There are still people who ask what they used for the ceiling.

So in the kitchen #rumahmaknaa we use an exposed bondek ceiling and WF iron painted black. Why choose a bonded ceiling? So when we wanted to build a house and were looking for inspiration for a mezzanine design, we were interested in a house design that used a black bondek ceiling.

We see that this bondek ceiling can be an accent that strengthens the industrial style. After applying it, we really liked the results😍. In fact, this ceiling is one of the characteristics of #rumahmaknaa.

What's the bastard? Bondek is a material in the form of sheets made from galvanized galvanized or aluminum which is used to make ceiling replacements for plywood. Bondek can be supported by ordinary beams or steel beams. In #rumahmaknaa the bondek is supported by steel beams or often called WF iron.

So, are you interested in having a makeover at your house?

My facade after 2.5 years. It looks like it needs to be repainted, hehehe

You could say that installing a canopy on the facade of this house is a bit forced because it disturbs the facade design where the tall windows are cut off. But nowadays, more canopies are needed.

Actually, this facade is not 100% in accordance with the design that has been made because #rumahmaknaa is indeed a growing house. So in the future it might change.

The color palette of the ground floor and mezzanine floor in the house has quite different meanings.

In the mezzanine area (we use it as a room), we use more white and wood. There is no black or dark gray furniture. For the floor, we also chose to use wood motif vinyl rather than granite. We did this because we wanted a bedroom that was comfortable, warm, and didn't seem crowded. Moreover, the mezzanine area is only 3.5 x 5 meters. You could say the style of the mezzanine area is more towards Japanese minimalism.

Meanwhile, in the ground floor area, apart from white and wood, it is also dominated by black and gray so it has a more industrial impression. Apart from that, as an accent we also always add green to every room.

So in general, the #rumahmaknaa color palette is white, wood, gray, black and green. In the future there is a desire to add other colors. What color do you think is suitable?

The #rumahmaknaa Color Palette is dominated by gray, white, natural brown, black and green. We chose this color because we like neutral colors so they are easy to mix and match.

But we started adding other colors to the small decorations, such as yellow and terracotta cushion cover colors. It turns out it makes the room fresher 😍.

My Home Story

#rumahmaknaa was built on land that was once a peacock and balloon cage before being abandoned.

This land is inherited land which happens to be located next to my parents' house. Our land area is 5x20m. But with the existing budget, we have only worked on 5x16m.

Initially we thought that a house with a width of 5 meters would feel narrow, but with the open space concept in the style of a loft apartment, it turns out our house doesn't feel cramped.

In filling the house, we fill slowly. We fill it with furniture and items that suit our tastes.

If asked what is the style of the house? At first we felt that we didn't have a special style but over time we felt that the style of our house was Japandi Industrial. When choosing furniture and other decorations, we always choose black, wood, white and green.

For us, home is the most comfortable place to come home to and it turns out that this 5 meter wide house can be made comfortable 🥰.

Affordable materials in #rumahmaknaa

One of the most expensive costs when building a house is finishing. From the start, we wanted a house with wooden elements to give a warm impression. Honestly, we wanted to use teak wood which is known to be strong and durable but it's expensive 😫.

Due to the limited budget, we finally adjusted some things, for example:

1. Choosing to use Dutch teak wood instead of teak wood as stair treads. The price is much cheaper than teak wood and thank God it's still good after 3 years.

2. Choosing to use vinyl instead of parquet flooring. In addition to being cheaper, vinyl flooring is also claimed to be durable.

In addition, another room that we adjusted the budget for was the bathroom. We used subway tile wall tiles which are affordable.

Currently, there are more affordable materials that are functional and aesthetic. The key is to find out a lot. Hopefully the information is useful🤍.

The work area #rumahmaknaa is next to the bed. We utilize an area of 1.5 x 2.5 meters.

Choose white furniture to match the existing furniture in the bedroom.

The decoration in this area is still very minimal. In the future we plan to add wood-colored shelves. Hopefully it can happen soon 🥰

5x6 meter house but not cramped and stuffy ✨

The trick is to apply the open space concept. In #rumahmaknaa, the ground floor is a public area. Where we combine a mini foyer, living room, and kitchen. This is one of our best decisions because the house really feels more spacious, not cramped and stuffy.

But you have to be careful in choosing furniture because if you choose the wrong furniture, the house will feel full. the size must fit the room. If possible, also choose multifunctional furniture. For example, we chose to use a kitchen island instead of a dining table so that there is additional storage space.

Are you interested in applying this open space concept? or have you already applied it? 🥰

In the Void area, we used this hanging lamp because we think it is simple, long lasting, and suits the theme of our house, namely industrial. These lamps are actually sold individually, but we ask for them to be combined on one lamp base.

For the lights, we use Edison warm white 3000k lights. But it looks like there is one lamp that is different because we bought the wrong one hahaha. But at #rumahmaknaa, we always choose warm white lights 3000 - 4000k because we think it makes the room ambience warmer.

In the stairwell area, we added a small light display on a planter stand. This lamp is cheap but it turns out beautiful too hehe.

Before-After House Facade
The facade at #rumahmaknaa has a simple minimalist model with a combination of white, gray and black.

In 2023 there will be many changes to this facade area. Initially there were trees and no canopy, so we used a canopy. Honestly, I prefer the appearance of the facade in the first photo and it's really sad to have to cut down trees to install a canopy🥲🥲🥲. But now what is really needed is a canopy.

So this is what the current facade of #rumahmaknaa looks like, which looks like it has to be repainted 🫣.

Bedroom Styles
The rooms at #rumahmaknaa are on the mezzanine floor. Different from the ground floor which uses lots of gray and black colors. In our rooms we use more white & wood colors. You could say the style in our bedroom is more towards minimalist Japanese. But it turns out that by adding a throw on the bed, it has a boho accent, hehe.

It is undeniable that in the future this bedroom style will change. But what is certain is that currently we are comfortable with white & wood tones in the bedroom area because it gives the impression of being clean, more spacious and comfortable.

Service area at #rumahmaknaa

This service area is in the area behind the house which is integrated with the dry garden.
The size of this rear area is 5 x 4.1 meters. This area was initially open but we decided to cover it with a flat solar canopy.

In fact, this area was one of our mistakes in building a house where we forgot to consider the need for a separate service area from the public space. We even forgot to build a warehouse which we apparently needed. But Paksu didn't agree with making a partition because it would make the room seem cramped

Finally, we got around this by making custom warehouse shelves. This warehouse shelf is made of metal, a combination of hollow iron and perforated metal. We design it in such a way that it looks attractive. Initially, the design of this warehouse shelf was inspired by a friend at HomeDecor and modified to suit our tastes.

For the cleaning and laundry equipment storage area, we also try to choose matching colors so that it still looks aesthetic.

Since our house is small, in #rumahmaknaa the living room is joined by the family room.

This room utilizes the space under the stairs. You choose gray, black, brown and green furniture and decorations that match the industrial style.

To make the room even more comfortable, we added a reed diffuser from Home of Humans which is A Much Better Living Room. The smell is really delicious and makes the living room feel like a spa 😍.

The kitchen area #rumahmaknaa uses an exposed bondek ceiling painted black to give an industrial impression.

The lights we use in this area are downlights and spotlight lights because we think they best suit the style of the house and look simple and minimalist.

Besides that, by using spotlight lights, we can illuminate various corners of the room. As seen in the photo, one track spotlight can illuminate the kitchen area, mini foyer and coffee corner.

For the color of the lights, we chose to use natural white (4000k) for downlights and warm white (3000k) for spotlights. We do this to get the impression of a warmer room.

My favorite room in #rumahmaknaa is the kitchen. Thanks to this room, I can dive in and survive in the world of home decor 🥹.

This kitchen is a modification of various references. Honestly, I rarely saw a kitchen set that combined dark colors and wood. So at first I was hesitant to use this color. But thank God I stuck with my choice and I like the result 😍.

Hopefully it inspires and can be a reference for friends who like warm & bold kitchen colors 🤍.
