Skylights
Many online friends ask, do you regret installing skylights? I don't even regret it, because the skylight has been on my wish list for a long time. In the past, I wanted the skylight to run horizontally from one end of the kitchen set to the other end of the kitchen set. But since there is a room above the right side of the kitchen, it is not possible. So the skylight is designed in a position as seen in the photo. It turns out that this position is actually profitable, especially in the dry season like recently when polls have been hot 💥💥💥. So when the sun's rays fall on side A, I can do activities in areas that don't get sunlight because my kitchen happens to be 6 meters long, thank God, and so on, because the light usually comes from the left side of the kitchen. In the afternoon, the light travels to the right side of the kitchen.

𝑴𝒚 𝑭𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝑴𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕
One of the many 𝙛𝒂𝙫𝒐𝙧𝒊𝙩𝒆 𝒎𝙤𝒎𝙚𝒏𝙩𝒔 in #rumahlimut that I want to share this time is working in the dining table area. When the task of preparing provisions for the husband, wife and children is complete. Usually I immediately 𝒘𝙤𝒓𝙠𝒐𝙪𝒕 for 1 hour, then open my laptop and 𝒔𝙤𝒓𝙩𝒊𝙣𝒈 𝒐𝙪𝒕 some work such as replying to emails, 𝙪𝒑𝙙𝒂𝙩𝒊𝙣𝒈 𝒅𝙤𝒎𝙚𝒔𝙩𝒊𝙘 𝙛𝒊𝙣𝒂𝙣𝒄𝙚 and make a 𝒊𝙣𝒗𝙤𝒊𝙘𝒆 that I have to send.
I prefer working at the dining table with the sliding door wide open so I can see the sky directly and feel like working in the open air even though this is actually a 𝙞𝒏𝙙𝒐𝙤𝒓 area.
This 𝙨𝒌𝙮𝒍𝙞𝒈𝙝𝒕 roofed corridor area is only 1 meter wide, but it turns out that its impact is quite significant for the 𝙖𝒎𝙗𝒊𝙚𝒏𝙘𝒆 in this area, including:
* As a source of natural light, thus reducing electricity usage.
* 𝑴𝙤𝒐𝙙 𝙀𝒏𝙝𝒂𝙣𝒄𝙚𝒎𝙚𝒏𝙩: I feel that the exposure to sunlight that comes in increases my 𝙢𝒐𝙤𝒅, creates a more 𝙞𝒏𝙫𝒊𝙩𝒊𝙣𝒈 atmosphere and lifts my spirits.
Even when it rains, the sound & raindrops create a romantic experience & view.
I can sit and work for hours at this dining table, accompanied by warm tea or coffee & snacks. I'll share other favorite areas sometime! ☺️

The skylight which is right above the stairs was deliberately made to make the house brighter & save electricity because you don't need to turn on the lights during the day, besides that you can see the blue sky...
The ceiling was deliberately made from exposed bondex to add an industrial impression to the house of Aru

Dry garden with skylight roof ☀️
Located in the remaining land at the back, this garden provides access to the bedroom, bathroom and service area. We use sliding glass doors as a divider between the garden area and the living room.
There are several low-maintenance green plants such as Calathea and palms.
Our two pets really like to relax in this garden.

Let's talk about the stairs in our house!
In this small house, there are two stairs. One goes to the 2nd floor and the other to the 3rd floor. The fun thing is, these two stairs use different materials! We chose permanent cement for the first staircase, so that the area below it can be used for cabinets. While the second staircase uses iron, so that light from the skylight can penetrate to the area below.
Because of the limited space, the staircase design is made in a U-shape. Although the materials are different, the design remains uniform, so it looks harmonious.
To maximize light, we added a skylight above the 3rd floor. So, from morning to afternoon you can enjoy the sunlight, and at night you can peek at the stars from there.

For the kitchen set, I used IKEA METOD veddinge (white) for all the cabinets, and Karlby oak veneer for the counter top. Before renovating the kitchen, I used the same kitchen set, only the counter top had changed color because the previous material, birch wood, had been discontinued.

This 2x3.2m bathroom transformation is a 𝒎𝙮 𝙙𝒓𝙚𝒂𝙢 𝙗𝒂𝙩𝒉𝙧𝒐𝙤𝒎. With a 𝒕𝙞𝒎𝙚𝒍𝙚𝒔𝙨 𝙘𝒉𝙞𝒄 design, we open the ceiling a little for the 𝙨𝒌𝙮𝒍𝙞𝒈𝙝𝒕 above the sink area so that natural light can enter.
This bathroom is accessible from the master bedroom and directly 𝒄𝙤𝒏𝙣𝒆𝙘𝒕𝙚𝒅 through a door to the 𝙬𝒂𝙡𝒌-𝒊𝙣 𝙘𝒍𝙤𝒔𝙚𝒕.
The floor & walls are fully up using 120x60cm marble motif granite without removing the old ceramics to cut costs and shorten the 𝙩𝒊𝙢𝒆 𝒇𝙧𝒂𝙢𝒆 work.
Specifically for the bathroom area, we differentiate the walls by using 𝒛𝙚𝒍𝙡𝒊𝙜𝒆 𝒕𝙞𝒍𝙚 (Moroccan ceramics) to maintain an “organic” feel.
To create a “warm” atmosphere, we chose 𝙨𝒉𝙤𝒘𝙚𝒓, faucets & bidets in 𝙜𝒐𝙡𝒅, several features with brass & silver materials.
As a storage area, we created a drawer-shaped cabinet with Taco sheet material with a wood motif & a door to the living room made of teak wood material coated with a 2-layer coating so that the original wood grain & color are still clearly visible. #BathroomCeramics

Dining Room Sky View 🍽️🌥️
Before being a place for family dining, the dining table in this photo was once a workplace before having a work table with a different placement. Now we deliberately placed it in the middle between the kitchen (left) and the mini inner courtyard (right). We consider this placement appropriate because it is close to the kitchen and also the mini garden with a skylight roof. Creates an exciting outdoor cafe-style atmosphere when eating, because of the view of the sky and green plants.
The advantage of having a sliding (opening and closing) skylight roof at the back is that it can save electricity usage 🔋, reduce the use of lights, smoke and cooking smells when cooking, you can go straight out and get new, clean air, which is no less exciting than a skylight like a natural lighting dimmer; I mean... when it's bright it can suddenly get dim if there are clouds moving to cover the sun ⛅️

Occasionally the stairs area appears, OK?
This staircase area has a roof made of skylights, made of holo iron frame and 8mm tempered glass. This is a source of light in the morning and afternoon so it saves electricity usage
The walls look like they have brick motif ceramics, exposed walls and a roaster.
The stairs use a holo iron frame and the steps use plywood for the steps

Heading to the 2nd floor 𝙖𝒓𝙚𝒂 𝒔𝙚𝒓𝙫𝒊𝙘𝒆, through a mirrored aluminum door there is a ART bedroom, ART bathroom, laundry area and a warehouse.
This 𝒓𝙚𝒂 𝒔𝙚𝒓𝙫𝒊𝙘𝒆 is quite bright even without turning on the lights. The 𝙎𝒌𝙮𝒍𝙞𝒈𝙝𝒕 in the hallway area & laundry area makes it always look 𝒃𝙧𝒊𝙜𝒉𝙩 & 𝙖𝒊𝙧𝒚.
Plus a wide window, allowing natural wind & light to flood the room. The clothesline is also perfectly dry.

Tips for lighting in the laundry room area
1. Raise the ceiling and use skylights made of clear galvalum or flat solar
2. Use bright color paint such as white to get the impression of a clean, bright and spacious room
3. Choose equipment in the same color by mixing and matching the interior design

Home is where the heart is 🤎
The room is our favorite place at home. Besides resting, the room is the most comfortable place to calm down.
This is the view from inside the main room. We deliberately used a sliding glass door that directly faces the dry garden area. Green plants, light from the skylight and raindrops are the views that we also enjoy from inside the room.
No need to go far, it turns out that healing in the room is more enjoyable. It feels like a staycation at a villa, very comfortable 🫶🏻✨
