• Making House into Home •
Hello, O!House friends, my husband bought this house in 2017. At that time we were not married yet and I was still in Japan completing my Masters studies. At that time I only said that this house was nice and unique compared to other houses that my husband had surveyed.
When I started living in this house in 2020, we started adding a canopy, under-stairs cupboard, tidying up the front garden. In 2021, we added a kitchen + dining room, laundry room and prayer room.
In 2023, we renovated again, this time there were quite a lot of changes in detail: renovating 2 bathrooms, upgrading the interior of the master bedroom, expanding the children's bedroom + upgrading the interior, adding a work space and balcony, adding a rooftop for a water tower & pump, upgrading the interior of the living room, upgrading the carport + garage ceramics.
We are grateful that day by day, this house is getting more comfortable. In my personal opinion, to make a 'house' into a 'home' is our own creativity in creating space according to the needs of our respective families.

The family room is intentionally designed to be integrated with the central garden and dining room, separated by large folding glass doors to give the impression of a spacious room.
The many openings make this house a comfortable place to gather with family, both nuclear family and extended family gatherings.
We maintain minimalist custom furniture to maintain the consistency of the "Industrial Rustic" theme
Watching TV, playing games that involve physical activity (eg learning to skateboard 😅) or just sitting and chatting enjoying the breeze coming from several openings.
Sometimes a barbecue party in the central garden without worrying about smoke getting trapped inside the house.
Feels "empty" ?! YES !! we agree not to add many household details to keep the theme of the house prominent.

Being given the opportunity by Allah SWT to build a house according to our wishes is a gift that is more than we expected.
We now realize that the ideal house is a house that we build according to our respective tastes and economic capabilities. So for all of us, the house will be good according to the wishes of its occupants.
We ourselves decided to make this "semi-outdoor" house, of course with all the consequences that have been explained at the beginning by our architect. Good air circulation will be accompanied by the entry of dust during the dry season. The many openings will risk the entry of mosquitoes if the environment around the house is not clean.
For that, we deliberately minimized the display items so that they would not become nests for mosquitoes and dust. We made our furniture large and we could move some of them. That's why the interior of our house has not changed much.

The central garden was intentionally made with synthetic grass, so when the window door is opened, it will feel like an "open space" from the central room to the dining table.

Short Home Journey:
-We found this house in 2019 in very original condition from the Developer, then we got married in December 2021 and started moving in in January 2022.
-We were matched with this house because it is located near the highlands & has easy road access, flat & the surroundings are still very beautiful. Also very easy to reach the main road.
-During 2021-2024, we did quite a lot of small-big renovations in this house, the goal is to keep it comfortable to live in ✨ (you can stop by the previous posts for the house progress)
-Choosing 'White Clean Minimalist' as the main concept was the right choice, because we wanted this small house to feel more spacious.
