There are closed and open storage for eating and drinking utensils. More closed ones so that they are neater and dust-free. Open storage is only in the kitchen because the plates and bowls are always used every day so there is no time for dust to stick.

A place to store items in the kitchen is a must. I deliberately chose storage that is dominated by closed shelves. The purpose is to minimize dust that comes.
Like this kitchen cupboard that I specifically put for plates, my beautiful glasses and some cooking utensils that are rarely used. While for daily use I put on a different shelf.
