Creating a comfortable room must of course be supported by decoration and materials.
For that I chose minimalist decoration and interior. Not using large interiors such as cupboards. But replaced with partition shelves to store small items and hangers to store clothes.
This aims to make the room look spacious and neat.

The long journey to find a 'Home'
So my family (parents, older sister, brother, me, and younger sister) lived in a shophouse for 12 years. Because the shophouse only had 1 room, for comfort and security the shophouse was partitioned with plywood.
It was only in 2023 that we were given the fortune and convenience to build the second floor of the shophouse. It became what it is today.
Although it took a long time to build/find this 'House', we really considered it, designed it ourselves according to our wishes and needs. With a limited budget and now our dream 'House' has become. Although after a year has passed we are still paying off the interior due to these limitations. But, masyaAllah we are always grateful that we have been able to reach this stage.

The size of this room is only 2.5x3.5m. To maximize the space in the remaining corner of 1x2.5m, I use it for a workspace. On the left side for a work desk and on the right corner there is a standing mirror. The addition of this standing mirror is to utilize empty space and add a spacious impression to the room.
Although this room is small, every corner can be utilized optimally. Tips for narrow spaces, make wide windows so that lots of light can enter. And make the most of every corner.

To create a minimalist kitchen, I used mosaic ceramics on the walls and granite for the table top. The dominant color is white so that it looks clean.
Because this is a clean kitchen, there are not many cooking utensils and cutlery here.
To make it look warm and cozy, lights are added. And some other decorations.

Affordable items or materials according to me
Vennetian blinds are affordable items. Durable, easy to clean, practical and most importantly adds to the aesthetics of the room.
Vinyl granite is the next affordable item. Compared to using vinyl stickers, vinyl glue or PVC which have many shortcomings, it is better to use vinyl granite because it requires minimal maintenance and is durable. Worth it with the price.

Actually, this is a 2-story shophouse, the 2nd floor of which was just completed 1 year ago.
Similar to shophouses in general, the 1st floor is used for business and the 2nd floor is for residence.
So in 2023 we started building the 2nd floor which really took into account the concept and design according to our wishes.
Each room really thought out the concept. But, actually this house is not 100% ready. We built this house in stages, so for now there are still empty rooms and incomplete furniture.

Room and balcony combined, is it possible?
