When renovating a house, making a garden inside the house becomes one of the concerns. We are willing to make the living room and dining area smaller in size to be divided with this simple small garden.
Size: 2.2 meters x 3 meters.
Advantages of indoor gardens:
• Get plenty of light during the day
• Better air circulation, reducing humidity in the house
• Drying clothes dries faster and minimizes drying in the front area of the house
• Relaxing spot for family and guests
Disadvantages of indoor gardens:
• If you make drainage paths and control tanks, you need to pay attention to the design so that no small animals can get out of the control tank, especially in the rainy season
• When the weather is hot during the day, it feels quite hot inside the house

Affordable but aesthetic material at sumo_nest ✨
On the facade there is a roster wall and also a house number from a plate that we form round as an architectural element.
The divider between the main door and the stairs uses gypsum painted and combined with hpl, in addition to adding an aesthetic element but also functional in design because there is storage at the bottom.
Stick-on bricks as a focal point in the middle of the room area and also give a different feel to the interior.
Rectangular beveled white ceramics. Affordable prices only the arrangement is played so as to create a different appearance.
The use of wpc and Hpl in the kitchen area so that not all use granite. For areas that are not too often wet, we choose to use hpl only to reduce the budget. The combination of material colors is such that it still blends with other materials.

Void Area✨️
The void area in #danishhome_ is one of our favorite spots in the house. Even though it is located on limited land, we deliberately set aside a little space to create a void so that the house still gets natural lighting and optimal air circulation. The void area is located in the corner next to the kitchen which is connected to the living room.
Measuring around 2.5 x 1.2 meters, we designed this area with a dry garden concept that uses calathea plants, gravel, paranet netting, and wooden decking for a more aesthetic and pleasant appearance. Then between the void area and the kitchen we added a mirror equipped with a wall panel to make it sweeter🤍
We are very grateful for our choice to create a void area. We feel that the air circulation in the house is getting more beautiful plus the sunlight enters optimally so it saves on the use of lights✨️🥰

Void in the middle of a newly renovated house.
The use of ceramics on the walls so that hairline cracks do not appear, covering wavy walls and paint that is constantly dirty because it is an outdoor area that is exposed to rain.

I Really Wanted to Have a Sliding Skylight, But... Budget! 😅
When I first renovated my house, I really dreamed of having an open area for good air circulation, and then using a sliding skylight on the top so that sunlight could come in beautifully~ 🌤️ But it's a renovation, the budget was tight. So that dream had to go into the "save first, be patient!" list first! 😆
Finally, I looked for an economical solution. I used a light steel frame for the canopy. Why? Because it's cheaper than hollow, both in terms of materials and workmanship costs. I chose double light steel, so the appearance remains neat and doesn't look "cheap". Economical but still beautiful! ✨
After waiting for some time (and saving every time I could), finally... yeay! the budget to make a sliding skylight was collected! 🎉 But I didn't dismantle everything right away. The old light steel frame was still really good, it would be a shame to throw it away.
So I only made the sliding part, using a solartuff roof. Well, I still use the old frame part, the roof is still polycarbonate. This way, it functions: light comes in, cool air, and your wallet is still safe. 😍
And what I like the most about this process is…
Not everything has to be new!
As long as the old one can still be used and looks okay, just give it a makeover. Economical, still functional, and of course very satisfying because the results are as expected ❤️

This time I want to share one of the most aesthetic parts of the house at RFL House.
The aesthetic spot at RFL house is located in the hallway leading to the main bedroom on the 2nd floor.
The void/balcony area with a garden view in the inner court area is used as a "home cafe" area which we often use as a place to have breakfast or relax while enjoying tea in the afternoon 😊

With a fairly compact house size, we wanted to still have a touch of green in the house. So this is the back garden! We finished the walls with kamprot, then planted calathea which is very easy to care for. FYI, it's only been 2 months since we planted it and it's already this tall, even though it was really short at first. If it gets taller, maybe we'll replace the plants. Any ideas on what plants would be suitable?
In addition, we also used wooden decking and coral stones to make the atmosphere cooler and more natural. Oh yeah, we also covered this garden with a sliding roof, so it can be opened and closed when it rains. No need to be afraid of getting rained on~
