When designing a kitchen set, there are several things that are the main points: 1. The cabinet uses 2 colors (here white and brown) with rattan accents. 2. Combination of cabinets and shelves so that they are not monotonous. Shelves are also very good for kitchen decoration. I don't put a lot of things in the kitchen so that the kitchen looks clean and spacious. There is only a spice rack which also serves as a display. That way, it's not too difficult to organize and clean the kitchen table top. To make it look more homey, I added a flower vase, glass rack and decorative frames on the shelf. Initially, this room used a partition between the living room and kitchen, but it felt cramped, so we decided to change the layout, removing the partition between the living room and kitchen. And according to our expectations, the room became more spacious, the kitchen area which was initially cramped, now we can make a kitchen set with a size of 2.40 plus a cupboard under the stairs. ✨[Almost] Dream Kitchen: Materials This kitchen area is the result of our own renovation. Unlike the front area which uses materials provided by the developer, in this back area we can explore the choice of materials according to our taste. This kitchen area takes the theme of white and wood but due to budget constraints, we finally chose to build a kitchen with a cast system. But we still chose materials that make our cast kitchen look more aesthetic. The shape is U-shaped with a cooking area, sink and dining area. For the sink area, we deliberately chose a deep sink so that it can accommodate more plates. We chose stainless steel material so that it is easier to maintain. The sink also comes with a built-in soap dish. But for the faucet, we bought it separately because we wanted a matte black sink faucet that matches the theme of the house. ✨ For the floor and kitchen table top, we use wood motif ceramics. While the backsplash uses white subway tiles. ✨ Kitchen Set (this is the only one that is not 100% according to our wishes). For the upper kitchen set, we use a combination of ready-made kitchen set cabinets and shelves (not custom). While for the lower kitchen set, the plan is to custom the cabinets. This open space kitchen design does not use special interior design services, it only adapts to the needs and functional aspects that are prioritized, so that ornaments that are decorative in nature tend to be fewer and more used as storage and space that actually has a function. We place cutlery such as glasses and spoons because they are often used, so we place them on the bottom side of the kitchen set to make them more child friendly. For plates that are used daily, we put them in the dish washer, the rest we put on the plate rack in the upper cabinet. At the very end, we only use the Ivar shelf from Ikea as a storage area and also use it as a Coffee Corner where my husband can get creative in making coffee in the morning.
