The difference between day and night is, of course, the presence or absence of lighting effects.
It's important to choose items that look good even when the lights are off, and to select positions and brightness levels that effectively enhance the space at night.
Of course, not all lighting needs to be show lighting; I also recommend installing light bulbs with sockets behind shelves or plants!
This time, I experimented with arranging Ohouse's tomato lamp like an object. It looks great even when it's not lit, like an object in itself.

Now that it's getting warmer, the way the sun shines in is gradually changing, and it's interesting how the same view looks different every day depending on how the light hits it.
I'd really like to put a low table in the middle, but that's not possible while my son is still small 😂

I want to be particular about choosing large pieces of furniture. In my own room, it's a Karimoku lobby chair.
I've carefully considered every detail, from the placement of the sofa to the cushions, side table, and the way I arrange the surrounding plants and decorative items, so that it blends in and enhances the space.
The most important thing, both before and after, is balance. I think the joy of interior design lies in carefully considering the balance of all elements—color, height, placement, density—and sometimes making choices and omissions.

After my glass table broke, I used a wooden camping table as a substitute for a while, but
this time I found a glass table at Ohaus that was just the right size and design, and I brought it in.
It has a more open feel to the space, and I've realized again how great glass is.
Since I was at it, I also changed some cushion covers.
The atmosphere has changed, and I'm one step closer to my favorite space.

Let's talk about the living room.
I went through a lot of trial and error to get to the current form, but the breakthrough came from two things: "eliminating the closet" and "the sofa doesn't have to be against a wall."
When working on interior design, it's easy to unconsciously get caught up in theories and stereotypes, which often leads to compromises. In those times, it might be a good idea to question and re-examine that way of thinking.
