Three front doors alone?! 🏠🔑 The secret of a 5-pyeong studio apartment with a 11-pyeong yard 🌿✨
In May of this year, the storyteller moved from Daejeon to Seoul and started a new life. 🌆 I am currently living in Bongcheon-dong for about 3 weeks. 🏠
The reason why the storyteller chose Bongcheon-dong, Gwanak-gu as his first destination was simple. Because I was not familiar with the geography of Seoul, I decided to live on Line 2. 🚇 Line 2 is a circular line, so it is convenient to travel around, and I especially liked Bongcheon-dong, which is located on flat land and close to the station. 🗺️
In the end, the house I chose had a deposit of 30 million won and monthly rent of 450,000 won. 💸 The storyteller thought it was okay as long as the monthly rent was less than 500,000 won. He said he chose his current home because he felt that it would be burdensome if it cost more than 500,000 won and the maintenance fee would also be added.

I've gone from low-profile to high-profile beds, and now I absolutely love low-profile beds. So, I've been removing the frame and just using a mattress with a mat. But hygiene issues are unavoidable, huh?
The built-in mattress keeps the mattress from sliding around, and the wood color is a natural, woody feel, making it even prettier in person. ♥ I also added a shelf, perfect for displaying lights, books, cups, and glasses.

Take a look at this pretty shell-shaped beanbag.
I bought a famous beanbag, but
I got buried in it so much that it was hard to get up,
and it took up too much space,
and I went to buy it again.

I was debating which photo to post, but I thought it would be best to share a photo that's been well-received by users. So, I decided to share a photo of my room from early spring this year, filled with a lovely and vintage vibe.
A butter and cream-toned room with a vintage-patterned rug. This photo, which I posted in early to mid-year, has been very popular.
✔️Would you believe that this space was originally used as an office in a commercial-residential building? I received permission from the landlord to repurpose the space into a comfortable bedroom, so I did the legwork myself. I didn't want to hire a contractor, so finding and communicating with the flooring, lighting, and woodwork myself was a challenge.
Q. What did you remodel?
A. Because it was originally used as an office, the flooring was dark and the space itself was spacious. Since I live alone, I didn't need a lot of space, so I installed a partition wall between the large 33-square-foot (10-pyeong) vestibule, separating it into two rooms.
To ensure privacy, I covered the front window of the bedroom with woodwork. I then covered the floor with light-colored decorative tiles and painted the black lines on the walls to create a clean, uncluttered look. Simply changing the floor and walls to a bright color brightened the space significantly.
For the flooring, I chose ✔️ cost-effective decorative tiles. The wide width minimizes gaps, making maintenance easy. Materials are also relatively inexpensive, allowing me to complete a space over 20 pyeong (approximately 66 square meters) for under 1 million won. If you're on a tight budget, there's no better flooring material than Decotile.
〰 After the Remodeling 〰
Remodeling is difficult the first time, but the second or third time is nothing.
We've lived in this house for about two years now, and I'm starting to get a little bored, so I'm planning on refinishing the floors again. While the renovation, furniture disposal, and room layout changes won't allow me to recreate the same look, I'm eager to leave behind this beautiful room and try something different.
Now that I can't see this mood anymore, I think it fits perfectly with the "2025 House of the Year" theme, which was only available in 2025. That's why I'm sharing this room.
My aesthetic sense may not be as exceptional as others, but if I make the most of what I have and find contentment within myself, wouldn't my home be more precious and beautiful than anyone else's?
