Inside a minimalist's black & white 1375 sq ft townhouseOur home is a side-by-side duplex, a multi-family home consisting of two separate units built as a single dwelling with three floors and an area of 1,375 square feet, excluding the garage and closets. As it was a newly built home, we chose not to make any structural changes. We got to pick whichever flooring color we wanted at no extra cost before the floor was laid. We chose dark gray-washed tiles throughout the house, including the second floor stairs and the whole third floor, which had previously been carpeted. The black-toned marble in the kitchen was changed to more of a solid white color, and the staircase and walls were also painted white before we moved in. 1F: Entryway

When I'm not teaching, I'm usually tending to my over 100 plants in my cozy apartment. Other than that, I enjoy going to the movies, game nights, and exploring new ways to care for my plants. I'm curious, carefree, and unapologetically me.I grew up near NYC in New Jersey, but I never thought I'd live here. After I graduated from Rutgers University and wanted to pursue my master's, I chose Teachers College, Columbia; and since I was already in New York, I decided to stay – and here I am, fifteen years later! I currently live in Hell's Kitchen, and it's perfect for me. The location is central to everything, and close to my friends, local bars, and great restaurants.I'm living in a two-bedroom apartment with a roommate. It's a 600 sq. ft. brick-walled walk-up. It's nestled on top of a popular gay bar, but I don't hear any of the noise. The avenue can be busy sometimes, but my windows do a great job of keeping out the sound. I'm renting right now, and I've been here for the last three years. The rent is currently $3200 per month, and it's split between my roommate and me.
