I had to move out of the family house and start living in a different city when I moved to my current company. Hello! I’m Lulu, and I’ve been living with over 100 plants for about five years now. It’s funny to think that a home without plants used to be normal for me. My love for plants and home decor actually started pretty recently. When the pandemic hit and we were all stuck at home, I found that taking care of plants helped ease the anxiety and stress of staying indoors all the time. Slowly but surely, I added more plants to my collection, learning as I went. Not every plant thrived, but through trial and error, I found that plants brought new life into my home. I work as a partnerships manager for a nonprofit and my husband works in accounting and finance. Outside of work, you can find us exploring the city, eating at local restaurants, and thrifting for the next secondhand treasure.After getting married almost two years ago, Tim and I made it our mission to move to San Francisco. We went to college together just across the Bay Bridge, so San Francisco has always held a particular charisma for us.We rent a 1-bedroom open-concept apartment with 1.5 bathrooms that measures 1100 sq. ft. Our complex has 40 newly built units, all featuring unusually large floor plans. My favorite thing about the apartment is undoubtedly the curved, floor-to-ceiling bay windows. They make the space look even bigger than it already is and let in so much light during the day, which is great as we mostly work from home.

Inside a fashion-forward apartment that balances sleek and cozy.
Out of all the homes I've designed, this one stands out as the most peaceful. My boyfriend, our dog, and I have been living here for a year now, and it truly feels like our haven. One of the things I love the most about this space is that I had the opportunity to design it from scratch, incorporating lots of unique and personal details. I put a lot of thought into the materials and finishes I used in my home, taking into account factors like durability, sustainability, and maintenance. By DIY-ing a lot of my home, I was able to achieve an expensive look while saving a lot of money. Most of my furniture and decor items are secondhand or used. I appreciate simplicity and functionality and this is reflected in my minimalist and neutral home decor style. Entryway
