Gold Nightstand for Bedroom Design Ideas
Goodbye Scandinavian, Hello Artdeco Contemporary!
Different from the interests of most people who like Scandinavian style, my taste falls on a style that is not very popular in Indonesia, namely Artdeco Contemporary. However, pursuing this concept is still difficult because there is not much furniture or decorative items in the contemporary art deco style. So the decoration elements and furniture in this bedroom initially tended to be more Scandinavian style.
To eliminate the Scandinavian style in my room, I replaced some of the wood finishes with peach pink and gold colors. Like the mattress that I covered with a headboard in the shape of cupcakes that I bought at the Shopee HeyJune store!
Apart from that, I also covered the wooden wall shelves with pink terrazzo motif furniture stickers. I also chose furniture and decoration items with an arch shape. Such as photo frames, work chairs and hanging lamps. I DIYed some of the gold accents in my room myself with gold leaf, because it's difficult to find art deco decorations with gold accents here.
The costs I spent to get rid of this Scandinavian style were quite a lot and I did it gradually one by one. For example, to change the look to gold accents with gold leaf, I spent around IDR 200,000 for all items. To change the look of wood with terrazzo furniture stickers, the budget costs around Rp. 180,000, for a custom nightstand around 1.4 million and for the bed headboard, the budget costs around 438,000. That's just for changing the finishing, not including the price of other furniture.
