Inside a 600 sq ft urban jungle in NYC's hell's kitchenMy plants play a major role in transforming the space into a sea of living things.Hey there! My name is Paul Thompson (Instagram: @plantmepaul), and I'm 38 years old. I'm a high school chemistry teacher at a top public school in NYC. When I'm not teaching, I'm usually tending to my over 100 plants in my cozy apartment. Other than that, I enjoy going to the movies, game nights, and exploring new ways to care for my plants. I'm curious, carefree, and unapologetically me.I grew up near NYC in New Jersey, but I never thought I'd live here. After I graduated from Rutgers University and wanted to pursue my master's, I chose Teachers College, Columbia; and since I was already in New York, I decided to stay – and here I am, fifteen years later! I currently live in Hell's Kitchen, and it's perfect for me. The location is central to everything, and close to my friends, local bars, and great restaurants.I'm living in a two-bedroom apartment with a roommate. It's a 600 sq. ft. brick-walled walk-up. It's nestled on top of a popular gay bar, but I don't hear any of the noise. The avenue can be busy sometimes, but my windows do a great job of keeping out the sound. I'm renting right now, and I've been here for the last three years. The rent is currently $3200 per month, and it's split between my roommate and me.plantmepaul·Saved 25·2023.12.29
Inside a cozy 820 sq ft nest in San FranciscoMy partner and I have been living in a cozy 820 sq ft condo in San Francisco for the past 10 years. We're situated on the top floor of a 4-story building, overlooking a beautiful central courtyard. One of the things I love most about our place is how conveniently located it is. We have easy access to the Muni T line, which not only takes me directly to work, but also provides a direct route to Chinatown.
When it comes to my design style, it's all about creating a space that feels like home to me. I love creating my own decor pieces and artwork, which allows me to express my personal style and vision. I'm a bit of a mix between an extrovert and an introvert, so while I love to entertain and have guests over, my home is still my sanctuary. I choose pieces that have their own stories and personal meaning, rather than just following a particular design style or era. I tend to gravitate towards warm and earthy tones with deep hues. These colors create a sense of comfort and relaxation, perfect for unwinding after a long day. I also enjoy incorporating elements like ambient lighting, textural fabrics, and natural elements, like wood and plants.

🏠 A Designer’s Home: Mixing Creativity, Comfort & Personality in 775 sq ft aptHi! I’m Tiffany, a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Oregon. Originally from Los Angeles, I work as a graphic designer in women’s sports, specifically for signature basketball athletes. Outside of work, I stay creative through painting, digital art, and sewing.
This is my fourth apartment in three years and my first living with my partner. I love the openness of this space—tall ceilings, large windows, and plenty of natural light. Being on the top floor adds to the airy feel, especially on sunny days when the light pours in. Most importantly, this place felt like a fresh start, with its modern design and spacious layout.
