Do you remember the must-read book, ‘Children of the Gwangi-buri-mal’ that you must have read at least once during your school days? One day, we received an email from Today’s House asking for help, so we went to the ‘Manseok-dong Administrative Welfare Center’, now called Gwangi-buri Village or Manseok-dong. After carefully reviewing the numerous applications for the ‘Come Play at My House’ project at the Manseok-dong Administrative Welfare Center, we visited a family in need of a helping hand from Today’s House on Children’s Day and gave the child his first room in his life. The master bedroom where the child and father slept together was turned into a bedroom just for the father to separate sleeping areas, and the room that was used as a storage room was turned into the ‘child’s room’! First, father's space is arranged with furniture with a Tembaboard design on a white base, which can be used as a focal point even in a small room, and We improved the room, which had no function other than sleeping, into a stylish and cozy space just for father, and transformed it into a space where he can rest comfortably as his own personal space. We focused on styling the child's room by using various patterns and colors to stimulate the child's creativity and curiosity, and used calm colors like blue and green to calm the mind so that the child who is sleeping alone for the first time will not feel anxious. The part of the child's room that we paid the most attention to was the desk space! Since the child will inevitably spend more time at the desk as they get older, we used a set of a desk and bookshelf to make new furniture appropriate for their age. The desk can also be arranged in an L-shape, so it can be used as a face-to-face space when the father helps the child with homework or schoolwork, so it can be used conveniently. And we also placed a computer on the desk as a surprise gift for the child! The child's room is about 2 pyeong, so it needed a lot of storage space, but we actively utilized the gaps in the room to secure storage space. What do you think of today's space, which started with an earnest email from the Manseok-dong Administrative Welfare Center, and became the first room in a child's life filled with dreams? Just like the meaning of Children's Day, which is 'to create an opportunity for children to grow up upright and strong in warm love,' We prepared today's space with Today's House's hope that all children in the world will grow up healthily in a pleasant environment. Then, we will come back again with a new space next time!
