The location of the family room is right at the front of our kitchen, we considered this with the aim of making it easier to monitor the children while they were watching even though we were doing activities in the kitchen. Our family room is used more often as a children's play area, therefore a fairly large TV cabinet is provided which functions as a compartment for children's toys.
