Inspiring Home Decor Tips Ep. 04: Important Tips about Kitchen Sink Drains ✨ One corner of the kitchen that can cause quite a headache if the installation is not appropriate is the sink drain. This channel is designed to drain used water and waste from the sink to the main drainage system or septic tank. The mistake that is generally made is using a flexible hose that is installed straight. This form of ducting can cause sewage-smelling gases from the main sewer system to rise directly into the home through the sink hole, causing unpleasant odors and potential health problems. Insects can also enter through this channel. A good sink drain option is a P-trap pipe. A P-trap is a type of pipe used to prevent waste odors from returning into the house which has a shape like an upside down letter "P". The P-Trap works by holding a small amount of water inside its curve. When water flows out of the sink, it will form a water seal inside the P-trap which will prevent waste-smelling gas from the drain pipe from entering the house through the sink hole. This water seal also prevents insects from entering through the drain. So, P-traps are important for maintaining a clean and healthy environment in the house. Usually, sinks priced above 1 million already include a suitable P-trap. Don't forget to be careful when installing this P-trap, and don't hesitate to ask a plumbing expert so you don't regret it later! Do your online neighbors have any other opinions?
