Record Club First Post📝 [Living Room Study] It’s been 9 years since I built my living room study. The current living room study was created through a series of changes based on the bookshelf. The bookshelf I bought in 2016 has been used as is, with one more row added after two moves. The bookshelf is still filled with my husband’s and my children’s picture books on the top, and the bottom with books. It seems to always be there in the same place, but it is busy changing with books that are left behind, new books, and books that are being sent away. The bookshelf is the largest and most noticeable thing in the living room, so I pay special attention to the arrangement and organization of the books. There are also changes as the children grow up. I changed the sofa and brought in a large table. It has become a study cafe, a book cafe, and a space where we can study and do various activities together. I placed a turntable and speakers on the sideboard, which is located in the official TV space, and created a music space by storing LPs and CDs. Occasionally, I use a projector to project a large screen on a white wall and watch movies, so I don’t feel uncomfortable without a TV. The most important thing when creating the living room study was the connection with nature. I insisted on the first floor where the children can be free and close to nature. The view of the trees outside the living room window is the reason I chose this house. A living room where you can feel the four seasons thanks to the apple, cherry, ginkgo, and apricot trees. (Last year, a lot of apples fell, so I made apple juice. An unexpected harvest!) I am enjoying the happiness of seeing squirrels, birds, cats, and butterflies at home. When I put plants on the sunny windowsill, the boundary between indoors and outdoors becomes blurred, and I feel connected to nature. A place where the blue green light becomes a comfortable rest when I turn my eyes while reading a book. The current living room study is the exact embodiment of the lifestyle I want to live. Since the whole family spends a lot of time together in the living room, I wanted to have all the elements I like. A space where you can see lush leaves swaying in the wind, where soft music flows, and where you want to read a book. A place with an artificial woody scent and the smell of books. In the evening, it becomes a cozy space where warm lights shine a yellow light. A living room study where family, guests, and anyone can stay comfortably at any time. Since there is no TV, there are always colorful conversations, and it is nice to enjoy tea time while listening to your favorite music, and to have a quiet atmosphere where each person chooses a book and gets lost in the story. The books we read together in the living room study helped our family grow. Watching the children grow like trees with books, I felt the power of a good environment and space once again.
