Chapter 02. My First Love, Mochi In the winter of 2017, I happened to visit a cat adoption shop, and I met a small white cat. I wonder if it was feeling down, or just sleepy, and it didn't get along well with other friends, and it was lying still with its head on the floor, and it was looking at me with lonely eyes. Its face was unusually wet, as if another cat had licked it, and its puffy eyes were covered in eye boogers, and at first glance it didn't look healthy, but its lonely eyes strangely bothered me. That's how the white cat became my family, and I named it Mochi, in the hope that it would grow even whiter and plumper than it is now. Mochi was my first cat, and the first small creature I had to protect. It's already been 6 and a half years since I became family with Mochi. From the baby Mochi who played with a butterfly toy on his short legs while singing a song, to the youth who showed off his plump, shiny, pure white fur and bright odd-eyed eyes, to the current Mochi who snorts loudly (haha), Mochi was my first love at all times. Mochi, who likes me more than my husband, still sleeps on my pillow, and barks for snacks when our eyes meet, and is the first one to greet me at the front door when I get home from work. My beloved first love, Mochi, even though she's almost 7 years old, she's still a little kitten in my eyes, and she'll be my first love until the day we part ways.
