Chapter 3. A House Filled with Seasons It’s the season when red plums and yellow corns are on the table. You’ll soon be able to see delicious summer fruits to your heart’s content. The seasons don’t just pass by outside the window, but there are moments when we meet them passionately in our home. If you spend the day outside without even looking at the sky, you want to enjoy today’s weather and this season with your family at home. When changing your bedding to match the season, you can change the mood with matching cushion covers and curtains. I like the moments when you can capture the season in small ways, such as a single flower in a vase or food that you carefully prepare and put in a bowl. Just as you can meet seasonal foods on the table, I also want to keep plants that show the season in my home. In the spring, I bring in a few pots of spring flowers that I’ve been waiting for all along, and in the summer, I place plants with cool patterns, such as palm trees, lady’s mantle, or fusion white, nearby. In the fall, I put up pine cones and acorns I picked up on my walks with props. In the winter, I have to make Christmas decorations, right? This year, I want to make a proper big tree, so I'm already looking forward to it while thinking about where to put it! When I was working as a florist, the first priority I considered was to capture the season. I was physically tired when I made representative seasonal flowers that I had to see and their colors one by one, but it was a moment of work-life balance. It was something I did because I was happier than anyone else... I think I'm adding fun to my home by decorating it in this way and that way, freely expressing my own tastes more than ever.
